Is your car locked?

Is your car locked at night? Cedar Springs Police Roger Parent reminds those in the city and in the country to keep their car doors and garage doors locked, to help thwart thieves in the area.

A family that lives just off Edgerton near 14 Mile had both a car and a truck broken into over the weekend. The thieves made off with a GPS, laptop, and car wash tokens.

“It’s just a good reminder to lock your doors and don’t leave anything of value inside the car,” noted Parent. He also recommended locking the service door to the garage.

The weekend before, there were also larcenies from autos on Porter Hollow, and Northland Drive. The Post is following up with the Kent County Sheriff Department to see if any of those cases might be related.

If you have any info on these cases, please call the Kent County  Sheriff Department at (616) 632-6100, or Silent Observer at (616-774-2345) or toll free at 1-866-774-2345. You can also text a tip to CRIMES (274637) and start your message with TIP138.
