Cedar Springs Youth Wrestling Club continues to have one of the most winning teams in the MYWAY League, with a total of 19 wrestlers finishing in the top four in their weight classes.
Youth wrestlers parted ways once again on January 10 to wrestle in two separate tournaments. The first one, a big trophy tournament, was held in Alma with three of the wrestlers finishing in the top two. Aiden Bouwens took 2nd in the 5/6 year old 61/64lb divison. Ryan Ringler also took 2nd in the 7/8 year old 77lb division. Jordan Ringler reigned as champion bringing home a two-foot trophy in the 11/12 year 65lb division.
The second tournament was held at Forest Hills Eastern. Placers in the 5/6 year division were Landon Demorest 1st/37lb, Nathan Elliston 4th/52lb and Jeremy Campione 1st/58lb. In the 7/8 year division, placers were Trenton Snoeyink 1st/55a, Reese Gonzales 1st/58a, Logan Hull 1st/58b, Ricky Wood 1st/67lb, Austin Wier 4th/72b, and Cody Gott 1st/112lb. In the 9/10 year division, placers were Aaron Smith 3rd/59lb, Michael Korody 4th/67a, Nick Campione 4th/71lb, Allexis Gonzales 2nd/75lb, and George Gonzales Jr 1st/100lb. Connor Goike took 1st in the 11/12 year old 119lb division and Vance Demorest took 2nd in the 13-15 year 100lb.
