Youth wrestlers take home trophies

Cedar Springs Youth Wrestlers brought in the New Year by travelling  to two seperate tournaments held on  Sunday January 3, 2010. The first was the Belding Novice held at Belding High School for first and second year wrestlers only.  In the 03-05 division placers were Landon Demorest 1st/37lbs, Aiden Bouwens 1st/61lbs and Aiden Brunin 2nd/61lbs.  In the 01-02 division, placers were Gage Lundquist 3rd/49lbs and Blayke Darling 4th/52lbs.  In the 99-00, placers were Shamus Kee 2nd/85lbs and Jackson Buege 2nd/110lbs.   Denverwhite Satterwhite took 1st in the 183lbs 97-98 age group.

The remainder of the pack travelled to Lansing to participate in the annual Spartan “Superbowl “ of Wrestling.  Wrestlers from all over the Midwest competed at the Jenison Fieldhouse on the campus on Michigan State University.  Although competition was tough, three Cedar wrestlers brought home some hardware. Ryan Ringler took a 3rd place trophy in the 01-02/77lb division.  George Gonzales Jr. took home a second place trophy in the 99-00/100lb division.  Jordan Ringler took home a 5th place medal in the 97-98/65lbs division.
