Sgt. Jonathan James Waller, 23, of Cedar Springs, was deployed to Afghanistan on January 5. He is expected to return sometime this summer to Elmendorf AFB, Alaska, where he is currently based.

In 2004, SSgt. Waller enlisted in the Air Force, making him the third generation to join, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfathers. He is the son of Dale and Sharla Waller of Cedar Springs. Also waiting for his safe return are his sister, Susan, and many other loyal and supportive family and friends.

Sgt Waller’s mother, Sharla, asked readers to please keep him and everyone in our Armed Forces in their thoughts and prayers.
