Ben Brooks placed in the top 20 twice this season for the Grand Valley Lakers.

Cedar Springs High School grad Ben Brooks and the Grand Valley State men’s golf team recently completed their fall season, and the Lakers finished in the top four, in four of the five tournaments in which they played.
The highlight of the fall season for GVSU was clinching back-to-back GLIAC Championships, marking the third time in the last four years that Grand Valley State has won the league title. GVSU also had strong showings at the SVSU Al Watrous Memorial Tournament (2nd), the Great Lakes Region Invitational (3rd), and finished the fall portion of its schedule with a fourth-place finish at the Motor City Invitational.
Sophomore Ben Brooks, of Cedar Springs, placed twice in the top-20 in the fall season, including a tie for 15th place at the GLIAC Championship. He recorded a score of 230 (+17) in helping GVSU to its second consecutive conference championship. Brooks also tied for 20th at the Motor City Invitational with a 226 (+13) and finished 32nd at the Division II Preview.
