One of our eagle-eyed readers snapped this photo of one of the Cedar Springs City Council members being arrested for bribery on Red Flannel Day.
According to Kathy Bremmer, of Cedar Springs, she was talking with Council Member Ken Benham on Red Flannel Day when suddenly he was nabbed and handcuffed to a light post by the Keystone Cops.
“They declared him guilty of bribing an officer and shouted out his alleged offense as passing crowds looked on,” said Bremmer. “As they threatened him with billy clubs, he remained a good sport and was ultimately released for, I presume, good behavior. Or, perhaps it was the onset of yet another rain shower that drove them to release him so they could seek shelter.”
