William C. Gould Sr.

William C. Gould Sr., 86 of Sand Lake, died Monday, September 28, 2009.  Mr. Gould was born May 16, 1923 in Ensley Township, MI the son of Guy and Flora (Wagner) Gould. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. He was a carpenter and had been building inspector for Ensley Township for many years. Both he and his wife were very active volunteers for Catholic Social Services in the Senior Companion Program. Surviving are his wife of 61 years Anna,  children, John (Judy) Gould, Timothy Gould, Susan (Steve) Jones, Bill (Michelle) Gould Jr., Patricia (Mark) Peterson; 18 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren;  sisters, Dorothy Bow, Helen Nelson, Margie Dunn; brother, John Gould; brother-in-law, Gene (Carole) Yost; sisters-in-law, Katherine Martin, Winnie Yost; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, David; brothers, Gaylord and Gerald; a special aunt, Marie Hancock. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs, www.blisswitterspike.com where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday 11:00 am at Mary Queen of Apostles, Sand Lake with Rev. Fr. Joseph W. Kenshol celebrant. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Sand Lake. Memorial contributions may be made to the Newaygo County Senior Companion Program.
