Shawn Neff, of Solon Township, sent us this photo of a Temminck’s Tragopan pheasant hanging out on their patio, just south of 17 Mile and Algoma. He said it has been there off and on for about a month.
“It was roosting on top of the white table and making a mess so I made it a place to roost elsewhere, but it didn’t use it,” explained Neff. “We don’t see it as much since we made it another place to roost, but we see it a couple of times a week. I think it likes the corn I put out for the deer and squirrels,”
This type of pheasant is native to India, the mainland of China, Myanmar and Viet Nam, but is sold here in the United States.
