Jeffrey T. Rogers age 53 of Cedar Springs, died Thursday, January 18, 2018. Jeff was born July 12, 1964 in Grand Rapids, Michigan the son of Thomas and Nancy (Teusink) Rogers. He loved hunting and fishing. Surviving are his daughter, Shelly Rogers; mother and stepfather, Nancy and Richard Jackson; brother, Dennis (Jennifer) Rogers; half-sister, Robin (Phil) Pipkin; aunts, uncles and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Rogers and his grandparents. The family received friends Sunday at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs where the service was held Monday. Pastor Tommy Turner officiating. Private interment in Sand Lake Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Pine Rest Community Clinic.

Verta E. Giddings, 92 of Sand Lake, was called home by her Lord on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at her home. Mrs. Giddings was born September 27, 1924 in Traverse City, Michigan the daughter of Alva and Laura (McDonald) Kibbe. She was the Pastor for over 60 years at the Church of the Full Gospel, Sand Lake. She was a gifted teacher and had a heart for reaching children through J O Y Club and VBS. Sister Verta was a great listener and was considered a mother to many. Surviving are her children, Beth (Peter) Lenau, John (Michelle) Giddings, Gary (Lela) Giddings; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jonas Rex in 1999; brother, Don Kibbe; sisters, Ruth Shutts, Wava Robinson, and Vera McLeod. The family greeted friends Sunday, May 21st at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs where the service was held Monday, May 22nd. Ministers Dann Clock and Phil Wainright officiating. Interment Sand Lake Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International or the Church of the Full Gospel.

Roger Willis Towns, 71 of Grand Rapids died March 1, 2016. Roger was born June 13, 1944 in Grand Rapids. He was an Army Vietnam Veteran. He enjoyed motorcycle riding and car races. Surviving are his sons, Brian Towns and Matthew Huizenga; siblings, Janet (Craig) Blossom, Mary (Don) Charron, Paul (Sarah) Towns, Patsy (Ed) Pierson and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Inez Towns; sister, Judy Robinson and brother, Tommy Towns. Cremation has taken place. Interment Sand Lake Cemetery at a later date.

Eugene L. Parker, 50, of Sand Lake, passed away Monday, November 30, 2015. Gene was born August 17, 1965 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the son of Leon and Dorothy Parker. He graduated from Cedar Springs High School in 1984 and was employed by Rowland Excavating. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR, his truck and his little dog, Bella. Gene had a big heart and would do anything for anyone. Surviving are his wife, Kimberly Dilling; father, Leon “L.D.”; brothers, Jeff (Terri), Jamie (Sarah); nieces and nephews, Jake, Tyllor, Amy, Tayllor, Trenton, Tanner, and Trinity. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy in 2014. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs where the service will be held Friday 11:00 am. Interment Sand Lake Cemetery.
