A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, August 29th from 1-3:00 p.m. at the home of Laurie Rowland – 232 E Ash – Cedar Springs. Come join us for a casual luncheon and small Service to Celebrate the life of our brother, uncle and friend.

Richard “Tom” Rowland age 79 of Sand Lake died Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at his home. Tom was born July 20, 1942 in Cedar Springs, MI the son of R. Kenneth and Bonnie (Morris) Rowland. He enjoyed people and loved to talk. Tom and his wife, Judy traveled the country for years on their motorcycle. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, his farm and horses, and Dobermans. He loved his children and grandchildren. Surviving are his wife Judy (Winter), who he married on September 2, 1960; children, Lauri & Gordy Waller, Scott & Penny Rowland; grandchildren, Nicole & Randy Basinger, Jessica Waller, Treva & Justin Freer, Jackie & Justin Slocum, Nicholas & Felicia Rowland, Travis Rowland; great-grandchildren, Brady, Peyton, Lillian, Kendal, Ezra, Evan, Lillian, Mila, Camryn, and one more on the way; brothers, Bob & Jodi Rowland, Bill & Karen Rowland; brother-in-law, Jerry & Mary Winter; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; also his dog, Magnum. The family greeted friends Monday, July 26 at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs, where the service was held Tuesday, July 27 at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the donor’s choice.

39C obit RowlandMrs. Bonnie J. Rowland of Cedar Springs, age 88, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2013. She grew up in the Cedar Springs area and worked at her Grandma Hanna’s restaurant where she met her future husband, Ken. They were married January 27, 1942 by Rev Cox. In 1952 they moved to Cedar Springs where she and Kenneth raised their 3 sons along with Thoroughbred, Standardbred and Quarter Horses. She loved her horses and all of the people she met. She had a special love for all of her grandchildren. She also enjoyed camping and going to the horse races. Mrs. Rowland returned to high school to receive her High School diploma later in life. She worked at Esch IGA Store, Stout’s Service Station as a bookkeeper, Holton LP Gas and Meijer. She also worked as a Tupperware Manager for many years. Bonnie is survived by her children; Tom and Judy Rowland, Bob Rowland and Jodi Coates, Bill and Karen Rowland. Her brother and sisters; Dick and Joan Morris, Sally and John Fortuna, Sandy and Mort Reed, her sister-in-laws; Mrs. Betty Morris and Erma Thompson; 8 grandchildren; Lauri and Gordon Waller, Scott and Penny Rowland, Rob and Shannon Rowland, Lisa Santoya, Shane and Tracy Rowland, Troy Rowland, Devin Nagle and Brett and Michelle Rowland; 17 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband R Kenneth Rowland September 15, 1999, her parents DJ Morris and Meryl Hannah and her brother Rex Morris. The Service for Mrs. Rowland will be Thursday September 26, 2013 at 11:00am at Pederson Funeral Home 127 N. Monroe Street, Rockford Michigan. Visitation was held on Wednesday September 25, 2013 from 4:00-8:00pm at the Funeral Home. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Spectrum Health Hospice 4500 Breton Ave SE, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49508.

Summar “Sunshine” Storm Rowland

Stacy (Sturtevant) and Troy Rowland announce the birth of their daughter Summar “Sunshine” Storm Rowland born on August 23, 2011 at 5:46am in Big Rapids, MI. She was 22 inches long and weighed 9.8 pounds. She is welcomed by her big brother Gunnar Stone Rowland, grandparents Paul and Robyn Sturtevant of Rockford and Bill and Karen Rowland of Cedar Springs, great-grandparents Bonnie Rowland of Cedar Springs, Beverly and Carroll Emmorey of Cedar Springs and Nancy Klingenberger of Lehigh Acres, FL.
