Michael J. Stewart age 70 of Sand Lake, died Friday, October 9, 2020 at his home. Mike was born May 29, 1950 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of James and Susan (VanGorder) Stewart. He was a mechanic and very mechanically inclined, he enjoyed NASCAR and racing, especially sprints on dirt. He had a great sense of humor and loved his family. Mike had a big heart and was always willing to help anyone in need. Surviving are his wife, Chris; children, Heather (Tom) Antcliff, Michael Stewart, April (Wes) Wright, John Stiles; grandchildren, Sheila (Trever) Sloan, Dan Antcliff, Amber Stiles, Allison (Chris) Black, John Underly; numerous great grandchildren including, Brayden and Kayson; sisters, Laura (Jeff) Burd, Kathryn Villeneuve. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Tim Stewart; son, Stephen Stiles; granddaughter, Angel Groendyk. The family greeted friends Wednesday, October 14 at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. A graveside service was held following the visitation at Elmwood Cemetery, Cedar Springs. Eugene Parker

Eugene L. Parker, 50, of Sand Lake, passed away Monday, November 30, 2015. Gene was born August 17, 1965 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the son of Leon and Dorothy Parker. He graduated from Cedar Springs High School in 1984 and was employed by Rowland Excavating. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR, his truck and his little dog, Bella. Gene had a big heart and would do anything for anyone. Surviving are his wife, Kimberly Dilling; father, Leon “L.D.”; brothers, Jeff (Terri), Jamie (Sarah); nieces and nephews, Jake, Tyllor, Amy, Tayllor, Trenton, Tanner, and Trinity. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy in 2014. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs where the service will be held Friday 11:00 am. Interment Sand Lake Cemetery.

C-obit-Bivens-fcSherry Ellen Bivens of Howard City, age 48, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2015 after being sick for so many years. She was born in Woodstock, Illinois to James Lamczyk and Charlotte Bivens in 1966. Sherry loved many things in life. She enjoyed watching NASCAR and other sports as well as watching the jewelry channel. She also liked Ford Mustangs. Sherry was a loving and devoted spouse, proud mother; wonderful daughter and sister, and dear friend. May her great sense of humor never be forgotten. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her. Sherry is survived by her daughter Ashley; husband of twenty-seven years, Larry Huffman; mother Charlotte Bivens; sisters, Sue (Tom) Gwilt and Sonya (Joe Vega) Bivens; brothers Charles (Jean) Bivens and Bob (Becky Cunningham) Bivens; and her Yorkie Cassie. She was preceded in death by her father; and sister Brenda Lamczyk. There will be a memorial service for Sherry at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2015, at the Pederson Funeral Home, 127 N. Monroe Street NE, Rockford, MI 49341. There will be a time of visitation with the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Those wishing to offer expressions of sympathy are encouraged to make a memorial contribution in Sherry’s name to the American Diabetes Association, 1550 E. Beltline Avenue SE, Suite 250, Grand Rapids, MI 49506.
