FLOYD EDWARD CHAMBERLAIN


Floyd “Floydie” Edward Chamberlain age 54 of Cedar Springs passed away Saturday, August 26, 2017 at the Meijer Heart Center-Butterworth Hospital. He was born January 23, 1963 in Norfolk, Virginia to Clare E. and Janice (Heckart) Chamberlain. Floydie was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed, hunting, fishing, golfing and spending time with his family and friends. He worked for over 25 years at Irwin Seating. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Clare and a sister Suzanne Casey. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Angie; mother, Janice; son and daughter, Hunter and Ally; brothers, Bruce (Becky) Chamberlain and Jeff Guzman; sister, Pam Deshano; father & mother-in-law, Paul and Jauana Hoskins; brother-in-law, Dale Hoskins; aunt and uncle, Nan and Dick Heckart; several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family received friends Tuesday, August 29th at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. Visitation continued on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Rivertown Funeral Chapel in Kawkawlin where the funeral service will be held Thursday at 12 noon. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

ROGER G. CAVNER


 

Roger G. Cavner, 80 of Sand Lake, died Sunday, August 6, 2017 at his home. Roger was born May 31, 1937 in Sand Lake, Michigan the son of Emmett and Nina (Tisdel) Cavner. He had worked at Helms Lighted Pictures, Brick & Block Layer, Kelvinator, Cedar Springs Public Schools and was a custodian at Tri-County Schools for 29 years retiring in 2002. He had served as sexton for East Nelson and Punches Cemeteries for many years. He enjoyed working at the West Michigan Whitecaps as an usher from 2002 until now. Surviving are his wife, Joyce (Parker); children, Dawn Seif, Mark (Kim) Cavner, Brian (Susan) Cavner; grandchildren, Jessica (Andrew) Mercer, John Seif, Lauren (Chad) Williams, Brent and fiancee, Katie Esakson, Stephen, Matthew and Aaron; one great-grandson and one on the way; sisters, Kathleen (Leonard) Woodman, Patti (Philip) Starr; mother-in-law, Martha Parker; in-laws, Gerald Parker, Lucinda (Max) Cole, Reta (Charles) McKee; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Charles; father-in-law, Wendell Parker; son-in-law, Timothy Seif; grandson, Ryan Doyle; sister-in-law, Beverly Parker; nephew, Kevin Cole. The family greeted friends Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs where the memorial service will be held Thursday 11:00 a.m. Pastor Chuck Smith officiating. Interment East Nelson Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Meijer Heart Center.

TROY “JAMIE” POLING

Troy “Jamie” Poling 51 of Grand Rapids, died Sunday, April 16, 2017 at his home. Jamie was born May 3, 1965 in Grand Rapids, Michigan the son of Melroy and Marie Poling. He graduated from Cedar Springs High School in 1984 and enjoyed working as a computer operator for Pitney Bowes and CU*Answers. He enjoyed reading, especially anything history related and spending time with family and friends especially around a firepit. Surviving are his wife of 25 years, Linda (DiCesare); daughters, Paige and Bailey; parents, Melroy and Marie (Tomlin) Poling; sister, Ronna (Keith) Wiseman; brother, Shawn Poling; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathy DiCesare, Joe (Raquel) DiCesare, Anna DiCesare, Rich (Linda) DiCesare, Rocco (Garry) DiCesare, Paula DiCesare (Mike) Leaf and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Ralph and Margaret DiCesare; brother-in-law, John DiCesare; nephew, Nicholas Wyatt. The family will greet friends Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs where the service will be Saturday 11:00 am with viewing at 10:00 am. Pastor Rick Ferris officiating. Interment Solon Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Meijer Heart Center.
