JOHN EDWARD HULL


 

John Edward Hull age 57 of Ensley Township passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018 at his home after a brief battle with cancer. John was born in Grand Rapids on January 8, 1961 to Dwight and Marian (Roosien) Hull. John grew up in Wyoming, Michigan, graduated from Godwin Heights High School, and moved to Sand Lake. John loved his children and his dogs. He also enjoyed sports especially the Tigers, U of M, and wrestling. John is survived by his children Kirk Jon Hull and Monica Rae Hull; father, Dwight; siblings, Carol and Donald Dracht, James and Karen Hull, and Connie Beles; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Darla Rae and mother, Marian Noreen. The family wishes to thank Great Lakes Caring Hospice for their care. The family greeted friends Wednesday, February 28 at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs with the funeral service following. Pastor Jeff Wallace of Pierson Bible Church officiated. Interment Crandall Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics or Great Lakes Hospice.

SHIRLEY ANN POPE


Shirley Ann Pope age 82 of Cedar Springs passed away Saturday, July 29, 2017 surrounded by her family at Grand Rapids Home for Veterans. Shirley was born April 24, 1935 in Ludington to the late Bernard and Selma (Murawski) Swantek. Surviving is her loving husband of 64 years, Keith; children, Denise Smith, Keith (Dixie) Pope Jr., Mark Pope, Bill (Angela) Pope, and Duane Pope; grandchildren, Chad, Kenny (Courtney) Fisk; Sherri (Ron) Potes, Nicholas (Angie) Pope, Ross Pope, Katie (Asa) Khoury; Abby, Cody, Colton, Alexis Pope; Megan Vanbeek, Travis Parker, Tyler Pope, and Wyatt Magoon; great-grandchildren, Chase, Archer, Iva, Mabel, and Owen; brother, Richard Chesney; sisters-in-law, Joyce (Irv) Hanna, Dee (Clinton) Mack, Beverly (Bob) VanderHeide, and Joanne Chesney; and brother-in-law, Art Curtis. She was preceded in death by her brother, Daniel Chesney; son-in-law, Irvin Smith; sisters-in-law, Yvonne Adams, Joan Curtis, and Bonnie Chesney; and brother-in-law, Ken Pope. The family received friends Tuesday, August 1 at 10 a.m. until time of the service at 11 a.m. at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs, Fr. Peter Vu officiating. Interment was at Solon Township Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Grand Rapids Home for Veterans and Great Lakes Hospice for their excellent care. Memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Home and Great Lakes Hospice.

Donald A. Wollander


C-OBIT-wollander-webDonald A. Wollander, 79 of Cedar Springs, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, May 25, 2015 at Vista Springs. Don was born February 3, 1936 on his parent’s farm in Sand Lake, MI the son of Edward and Ada Wollander. He worked for Meijer for 32 years and was a lifelong attendee of Huggard Bible Church. His real passion was farming which he did his whole life. Don was an honest and caring person, who loved people and often put others and their needs before himself. He also was a nature photographer and had won international awards. Surviving are his wife, Shirlee, whom he married on October 29, 1983; and many cousins. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. The service will be held Friday 11:00 am at Huggard Bible Church, 8860 21 Mile Road, Sand Lake. Pastor Rick Malone officiating. Interment Elmwood Cemetery, Cedar Springs. Memorial contributions may be to Great Lakes Hospice, 4069 Lake Dr. SE, Suite B11, Grand Rapids, MI 49546.
