Girls golf


On Monday, September 19, the Cedar Springs Girl’s Golf Team completed their final OK-Blue Jamboree at Western Greens and shot a 221, which left them with a 7th place finish.
Conner White shot a 50, Breanna White a 53 and Jessica Ingerson a 57.  The highlight was a near miss hole in one by Breanna White. It hit the pin and stuck just inches away.
On Thursday, September 22, the girls traveled to the Greenville Invitational and finished in 7th place with a team score of 432.  Conner White led the way with a 98, Breanna White a 107, Jessica Ingerson 109 and Taylor Rish a 118 (Chelsea Hull 125, Marissa Moralles 130 in her first 18 hole match).  “It was a solid week,” said Jessica Ingerson.  “I just hope we do well at the conference tournament on Monday at North Kent.”

Girls golf


The Cedar Springs Girls golf team had a solid week shooting team scores of 201 and 205 at the two OK-Blue Jamborees. On Monday, at Ironwood, the girls finished 6th but shot well. Breanna White was medalist with a 44, Chelsea Hull a 51, Nicole Shevock and Conner White a 53.
On Wednesday, at Scott Lake, the girls finished a season best 4th.  Breanna White was again the top scorer with a 46, Conner White a 51, Nicole Shevock and Taylor Rish 54.
“It was a nice week for us,” said Taylor Rish.
“We only have a few weeks left, so we are hoping to see some better scores,” added Nicole Shevock.

Girls golf team improving


It was a busy week last week  for the Cedar Springs Girl’s Varsity Golf team as they completed in 3 Ok Blue Jamborees at Cedar Chase, The Highlands, and Ridgeview. At Cedar Chase the girls fired a 234 and finished in 6th place. Leading the way for the Red Hawks was Conner White with a 52, Breanna White 60, Taylor Rish 60 and Chelsea Hull 62.  At the Highlands, the girls shot a 233 and finished 7th. Chelsea Hull led the way with a 56, Conner White 57, Breanna White 59, Jessica Ingerson 61, and in her first ever match Jessica Blacker 67.

“It is early in the season,” said Conner White.  “We really need to work on chipping and putting.”

The final match saw some much needed improvement as the Red Hawks shot a 211 and finished in 5th. Nicole Shevock was medalist with a 47, Conner White 51, Jessica Ingerson 54, and Breanna White 59.

“We are a young and relatively inexperienced team,” said team captain Nicole Shevock.  “We will work hard at getting better this season.”
