Help a family in need

The family of Kim Fisk lost everything when their home burned down on December 4th. The home was not insured and all possessions were lost. If you wish to help the family, a savings account for donations has been opened at ChoiceOne in Cedar Springs under the name of Kim Fisk. If you wish to make a donation of goods or for more information you can call Kim at 616-835-8915.

Family Fare donates to library programs

Pictured (L to R) is Family Fare assistant store manager Howie Fischer, Librarian Donna Clark, and store manager Don Fetrow.

Family Fare in Cedar Springs recently made a donation to the Cedar Springs Public Library of $478, which will support much of the children, tween and teen programming this next year at the library. The store was also the major sponsor for the library’s summer fun carnival ($350). The money came from the Spartan Foundation, which enables local Spartan stores to support programs in their local community.

Library Director Donna Clark was excited about the donation. “It’s so generous,” she said. “This money will go a LONG way for supplies and miscellaneous costs and may even cover the entire school year! That’s value…that’s Spartan!”
