Joel Stone Memorial Golf Outing

July 26: The Joel Stone Memorial Golf Outing will be held on Sunday July 26th at Cedar Chase Golf Club, 7551 – 17 Mile Rd. It is a 4 man scramble with a 2 pm shotgun start. Senior Lunch at Pine Grove Community Church

July 29: The cook books have been studied, the selection has been made.  The kitchen’s warming up; soon the aroma of Baked Chicken, Roasted Sweet Potatoes and Blueberry Muffins will infiltrate your stuffins.  Are your taste buds beginning to dance?  We’re extending the invitation to those age 60 (perhaps a little more), to waltz thru our door.  Follow the aroma at Noon the 29th of July to our corner of M-82 and Beech. #29

Model Airplane Airshow

July 29: Do you love airshows? How about model airplanes? The Wolverine Skyhawks join up with the Cedar Springs Library to put on a fantastic AIRSHOW out at their Landing Strip at 13540 West Street here in Cedar Springs on Wed., July 29 at 6pm. All summer readers up to 12th grade will get a ticket for a chance to win a model airplane! Grab a chair and join your friends for a great time! #29

Heritage Festival in Sidney

July 30-Aug. 1: The 29th annual Heritage Festival is July 30th through August 1st at Montcalm Heritage Village on Montcalm Community College’s Sidney campus. The three day celebration features historical displays, events, refreshments and music for all ages. 17th Annual Shoot for Life

Aug. 1: Shoot for Life is a Sporting Clays Tournament to benefit Alpha Family Center of Cedar Springs on Saturday, August 1st from 9 am to 3 pm. Your $50 entry fee per person includes: A tax-deductible donation to Alpha, a 50-target round of clays, a catered lunch, and 2 boxes of shotgun shells. If you bring your own shells, there will be an extra $12-15 to Alpha! Lewis Class scoring means anyone can win a trophy! Trophies for: 1st, 2nd, 3rd place in 3 Open divisions, a Ladies’ Champion, and an 18-and-under Youth Champion. Please pre-register! Quilt Fundraiser for Nelson Township/Sand Lake KDL

Aug. 15: The Nelson Township/ Sand Lake Friends of the Library are sponsoring a drawing for a “Bouquet of Violets” queen size hand-made quilt. Donations for a ticket are $10. Only 300 tickets are available. Tickets are available at the library. Drawing will be held on August 15th at 4 pm. Need not be present to win. Kent Theatre Golf Fundraiser

Aug. 15: The Cedar Springs Theatre Association presents the 15th Annual Kent Theatre Golf Fundraiser on Saturday, August 15th, at The Falls at Barber Creek, 16030 Barber Creek Rd., Kent City. All 18 (new nine) holes will be open for play for this event! $10,000 Hole-In-One Contest, Hit the Boat, raffle and other contests. Sign-up at 1 pm with a shotgun start at 2 pm. $240 for a team of 4 which includes golf cart, Texas style beef brisket/ smoked turkey dinner. Register before August 1st for $60 each.
