Nelson Township/Sand Lake Library Book Sale

Apr. 16-18: The Nelson Township/ Sand Lake KDL Branch spring book sale will be held on Thursday, April 16 and Friday, April 17 from 10 am to 7 pm, and on Saturday, April 18 from 10 am to 2 pm. See the new location at the Resurrection Lutheran Church, 180 Northland Dr. in Sand Lake. 15,000 to 18, 000 items: books, magazines, cds, vhs, dvds, puzzles. Donations for Here We Grow Again

Apr. 18: Here We Grow Again – The Solon Center Wesleyan Church Women’s Ministry is accepting donations for a “Like New” sales event (much Like a “Mom to Mom” sale) to be held on Saturday, May 2nd at the church. All proceeds will benefit the work of Alpha Family Center. Donations of gently used clothing, toys and furniture for children aged birth to 5 years as well as women’s clothing(& maternity), purses, shoes and accessories can be dropped off at the church @ 15671 Algoma Avenue, just north of 19 Mile Rd. Donation dates are as follows: Saturday, April 18th from 10-Noon, Monday, April 20th from 10-Noon, Wednesday, April 22nd from 6-8 PM and Saturday April 25th from 10-Noon. Roast Beef Dinner

Apr. 19: The Rockford American Legion Post 102 on the corner of Northland Dr. and Rockford Park D. 330 Rockford Park Dr. will be hosting a roast beef dinner on Sunday April 19th and every 3rd Sunday of each month thereafter. Open to the public. We will be serving roast beef, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, green beans, coleslaw, rolls, desert, coffee and punch. Reasonably price at adults $9, kids 4 to 12 $7 and under 4 years free. Serving from 11am to 3 pm. See ya there and bring the family! #15

Dinner at the Legion

Apr. 20: On April 20th the American Legion will host a dinner with Swiss Steak. Adults $9 and $4 children. The dinner on April 20th will be Swiss Steak. We have to go boxes. American Legion Post 287, 80 S. Main St., Cedar Springs. #15p

Michigan Blood Drive

Apr. 21: A Michigan Blood Drive will be held on Tuesday, April 21st from 12:30 to 7 pm at the Cedar Springs United Methodist Church, on the corner of Main and Church. Attempt to donate and you could win a $100 Meijer gift card. Be somebody who shares! #15

Emerging Drug Trends

Apr. 21: Navigating the teen years has never been more challenging. This presentation goes beyond the basic drug facts and will talk about new drug, where youth are learning about these new drugs and how to engage in heart-to-heart talks about drugs. Tuesday, April 21 at the Cedar Springs High School auditorium from 6:30 to 8 pm. Sessions are open to parents, students and community members. Presented by Kent School Services Network. #15

Blood Drive at St. Peter’s

Apr. 23: St. Peter’s Lutheran Church is sponsoring a Blood Drive on Thursday, April 23rd from 3 pm to 7 pm in the Fellowship Hall at 310 East Division in Rockford, Michigan. #15p

Dodgeball Night at CSHS

Apr. 24: The Class of 2015 All Night Party Committee will be hosting a dodgeball night on Friday, April 24th. The event will take place at the Cedar Springs High School gym from 7 to 11 pm. Teams will consist of 8 players. Register your team at the main office at Cedar Springs High School. The admission cost is $5 at the door. No passes will be accepted. Youth Group Car Wash and Bake Sale

Apr. 25: A Youth Group Car Wash and Bake Sale will be held on Saturday, April 25th from 10 am to 2 pm at Courtland- Oakfield UMC, 10295 Meyers Lake NE. Proceeds will benefit the Morley Park Pavilion Eagle Scout Project. $15,16p

“Antique Roadshow” Style Appraisals

Apr. 25: An “Antique Roadshow” style appraisals will be held at the Sand Lake United Methodist Education Building on Saturday, April 25th from 10 am to 3 pm. Featuring certified appraiser Joan Bunn. $10 donation for each item verbally appraised. Vintage and Antique items for sale. There will be a bake sale and a light lunch is available. Craft Show in Coral

HCNC Interpretive Center Grand Re-Opening

Apr. 25: Join the staff at Howard Christensen Nature Center in the grand re-opening of our new Interpretive Center! The dedication and recognition pot luck dinner will be on Saturday, April 25 from 4 to 9 pm. Please bring a dish to pass. Kieft Hospitality will donate and prepare the meat. Arbor Day at HCNC

Apr. 26: Join Howard Christensen Nature Center and the Wildlife Federation for a day filled with trees! Sunday, April 26th from 10 am to 1 pm. Free trees to be given away. The event is geared for all ages; bring your parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, brother, sisters, and others to help!
