Cedar Trails Elementary to host book fair

March 15-18: Cedar Trails Elementary will host a Scholastic Book Fair from March 15-18, 9am-5pm to help raise funds to purchase books for our March is Reading Month program, featuring a fun theme: Book Fair Diner: All You Can Read! North Kent Toastmasters

Pajama Storytime at Spencer Twp. Library

March 18: For families who can’t come to the library during the day, Pajama Storytimes offer an evening of stories and fun. Bring your teddy bear or other snuggly friend; pajamas optional. For children ages 6 and under with a caregiver. Thursday, March 18 to May 6, 6:30pm at the Spencer Township Library, 14960 Meddler Ave., Gowen. #10

Pasta Dinner fundraiser for Tyler Tanis

March 23: A pasta dinner will be served in the Red Hawk Cafeteria during conferences on Tuesday, March 23 and Thursday, March 25 from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. Dinner is only $5 per person. Please order tickets in advance at Red Hawk Elementary or reserve by calling the office at 696-7330. All money raised will be used to support Tyler Tanis, a Red Hawk student with bone cancer, and his family. Menu includes pasta with marinara or meat sauce, salad, breadsticks, cake and lemonade or water. #10

Pancake breakfast

March 27: A Pancake breakfast will be held at Courtland Township Fire Department, 7480 14 Mile Rd. on Saturday, March 27 from 8am-11am. Menu includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy, coffee, orange juice or milk. Cost $4 adults, $2 children 6-12, 5 and under Free, $12 family special. Proceeds to benefit Courtland Fire Dept. sponsored by Courtland Fire Auxiliary. #10

Plant a tree!

April 2: Plant a tree!  The Conservation District of Kent County is holding its bi-annual Tree Sale, with orders due on April 2, 2010.  The catalog is available for download on our website  (http://www.kentconservation.org/www.kentconservation.org)  and  includes many native Michigan trees and shrubs  like spicebush, redbud and dogwoods.  Pick- up dates will be April 16 and 17  support our Conservation District by planting a tree (or a hundred) on Earth Day!  Please call our office at 616.942.4111×100 for further information. #10
