Celebrate Recovery

Sept. 12,19,26: City Impact, 288 N. Main St. will be holding meetings every Thursday to Celebrate Recovery, a Christ centered, 12 step recovery program for anyone struggling with hurt, habits or hangups of any kind. 6-6:30 pm – Meet & Greet, 6:30-8pm Celebrate Recovery. Concert at Velzy Park

Sept. 12: Velzy Park concerts continue Thursday, September 12th featuring Country Strings, who we signed up after Roger Tawney played a couple of numbers at our June concert. Senior Fitness Classes

Sept. 17,19: One out of three older adults fall each year and these falls are the leading cause of emergency department admissions. Falls can be a significant obstacle to healthy aging. There’s good news, too: physical activity has proven to help prevent falls. Senior Neighbors is pleased to be partnering with Cedar Springs Public Schools in offering a new fitness class in Cedar Springs! Open to anyone age 60 or older, these classes will focus on endurance, flexibility, strengthening, balance, and having fun. Classes began Tuesday, September 10th and will be offered each Tuesday and Thursday at 9:30 am in the board room at the Cedar Springs Public Schools hilltop building. Come when you can, do what you can do! Pre-registration is not required. These classes are available through the Kent County Senior Millage- donations are accepted, or use your Silver&Fit benefit! Michigan Blood Drive

Sept. 17: This month’s Michigan Blood Drive will be held on Tuesday, September 17th at the Cedar Springs United Methodist Church located at 140 S. Main Cedar Springs. The drive will go from 12:30 pm until 7 pm. To schedule an appointment visit https://donate.miblood.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/103966. A patient could be forced to pass up a lifesaving organ, if compatible blood is not available to support the transplant. #37

Red Flannel Day Talent Show Tryouts

Sept. 18,21: Looking for talented kids of all ages. The Red Flannel Talent Show is searching for singers, vocal groups, dancers, instrumentalists and variety acts for the Red Flannel Day Talent Show on October 5th. Come in and show us what you got. Tryouts on Wednesday, September 18th at 7:00 pm and Saturday, September 21st at 11 am at the Kent Theatre, 8 N. Main St. Cedar Springs. Dress rehearsal on October 1st at 7 pm. Bring Birds and Bees to Your Garden

Sept. 24: The Rogue River Watershed Partners invite you to a presentation by Amy Heilman, native plant enthusiast, landscape designer, and frequent presentor, who will give an illustrated talk about “Bringing the Birds and Bees Back to your Garden.” This Tuesday Talk is at the Rockford Community Cabin, 220 N. Monroe, from 6:30 to 7:45 pm. All are welcome, no charge!
