OUT-Catch-HallKylee Hall, the daughter of Todd and Mary Hall of Cedar Springs, enjoyed one of the last fall weekends of fishing at Lincoln Lake. She was so excited to have the first catch before dad and mom! This 8-year-old loves her fishing trips to the fishing hole.

OUT-Catch-NienhuisDane Nienhuis, age 6, caught this large mouth bass while vacationing at their family cottage on Blue Lake in September. Dane’s older brother, Braylon, age 8, helped Dane with the net. It was a great team effort!

OUT-Catch-Balcam-webAustin Balcam, the son of Al and Sandra Balcam, of Coral, and a third-grader at Beach Elementary in Cedar Springs, was excited to go out fishing on Lake Michigan, out of Muskegon, on August 11, with his dad and two friends. Austin was the only one to catch anything and needed help reeling in this King Salmon, 36-inches, 26 pounds, and 23-inches around. He was so excited and tired! His parents are having the fish mounted for his bedroom.

OUT-Catch-HammondAndrew Hammond, age 12, caught his first bass (20 inches—a keeper), while fishing at the trailer of his grandparents, Tom and Maxine Schaner, at Paradise Cove, in Sand Lake.

Andrew fishes every weekend while camping at Sand Lake and he has caught several fish, but not a bass this size. According to his mom, Pam, this was a great day for Andrew. They are having the fish mounted for his 13th birthday.

OUT-Catch-Becker-webCarl Kraus, 14, of Copperas Cove, Texas, had something exciting happen when he visited his grandparents, Paul and Linda Becker, of Courtland Township, this past summer. Carl caught his first fish ever—a 15-inch bass in Scram Lake! He was very excited and proud of his first catch, especially when grandpa left the lake empty-handed! These are two happy fishermen from the Kwiatkowski family, of Howard City. The kids did some fishing at their great-grandparents’ house on Little Whitefish Lake, in Pierson, last month, and came away winners. Grace Kwiatkowski, 6, was so happy to catch this rock bass, and Caleb, 3, got a thrill out of catching this bluegill! Congratulations, Grace and Caleb, you made the Post Catch of the Week!

OUT-Catch-RednerParker Redner, 10, the son of Paul and Lauren Newkirk, of Cedar Springs, was pulling in small bluegill and sunfish, while fishing at his Grandma’s place on Little Whitefish Lake, when he suddenly caught his first bass. The bass was 10-inches long, and Parker was so excited, that the first words out of his mouth were, “Can we eat him, Dad?”
