OUT-Catch-of-week-TrollaFive-year-old Lincoln Trolla, son of Katie (Wolfe) and Joe Trolla, landed a 13-inch bass during his first river fishing trip in Breckenridge, Mich. While it was an inch short of being a keeper, it was a mountain of fun to reel in!

OUT-Catch-of-week-Jude-GorbyJude Gorby, 4, son of Nate and Lynn Gorby, of Cedar Springs, caught his very first fish recently on Indian Lake, near Howard City, while visiting with his grandparents, Dave and Jan Malmo. He caught the 6-inch sunfish while fishing with his Poppie (Dave) and and his brothers Noah and Kyam. “Jude was very excited about this feat and went on to catch four more fish!” said Dave. His Mimi (Jan) captured the moment with her camera.

OUT-Catch-of-week-PatinJessa Patin, 11, the daughter of Jerry and Kim Patin, of Solon Township, had a great day fishing recently, when she caught three big ones! The one in the photo is 18 inches long, and she also had one measuring 16-1/2 inches, and another 15 inches! Good job, Jessa, you made the Post Catch of the Week!

Catch of the Week: Aaron Funk

OUT-Catch-of-week-FunkAaron Funk, age 13, got this 23-inch brown trout, while camping at Duke Creek campground (his favorite campground) over Labor Day weekend.

“This is one of three nice trout he got out of Duke Creek that weekend,” said his mom, Amanda Funk. “He’s a proud fisherman!”

Catch of the Week

While visiting their Grandma and Grandpa Robinson on Bass Lake, near Gowen, these three boys—Tyler Robinson, 3, Nick Robinson, 5, and Nathan Robinson, 9—had fun catching some pan fish and releasing them. They are the children of Bob and Julie Robinson.

OUT-Catch-WitteKaleb Witte, 9, of Kent City, caught two red salmon with great-grandpa Leon and a friend, in the St. Mary’s River, in Detour, Michigan, in the Upper Peninsula. They measured about 20-inches long. Kaleb is the son of Bobbi Jo and Rood Vaughan.

Catch of the Week

OUT-Catch-of-week-Zeppi-JobseThis 16-inch large mouth bass was caught by Zeppi Jobse, 12, while fishing on Lincoln Lake, in their boat, with grandpa Bill Jobse, of White Creek Lumber, on Friday, August 22.

“The Bass gave him quite a battle, fighting through the lily pads, but Zeppi hung on for the catch,” remarked Bill. “He was so proud. This is the first big bass keeper of his season.”

He added that they are enjoying fishing together, after restoring their 14ft. Lund fishing boat.
