We would like to thank you all for the prayers, cards, flowers, food and other acts of kindness shown to us throughout Dawn’s illness.

We would especially like to thank Kevin at Bliss, Witters & Pike and Pastor Chuck Smith for the beautiful funeral service; Cedar Springs Floral for the beautiful flowers and everyone at Metron of Cedar Springs for their care during this difficult time.

It is all greatly appreciated. Thank you again.

Thank You!

Special thanks to Mary Hall, Ann Brott, Deputy Kimbrough of the Kent County Sheriff’s Department, and Kevin Pike for their care of our mother on November 16, 2012; Pike Funeral Home for outstanding service throughout the planning and funeral processes; Cedar Springs Floral for the beautiful job on the casket spray; all the family and friends who sent flowers and cards, gave memorial contributions, attended the visitation and/or funeral, and otherwise expressed condolences; Pastor Larry Young for the funeral service; the Brott, Hall and Parker families whose watchful care gave us peace of mind and were a blessing to our mother; Birchville School friends, class of 1942 CSHS friends, North Kent Seniors, and others whose friendship enriched our mother’s life; and to God for giving us this special woman to be our mother, allowing her to be here for 89 years, and giving her the gift of health and independent living right up until her last moment on earth.

Thank you Howard City Fire Department

Thank You Howard CIty Fire DepartmentThe family of Gordon R. Smith would like to thank the Howard City Fire Department, the Morley Area Fire Deparrmnet and rescue squad, and the many friends and relatives for the honorable show of support to Mr. Smith. He served on the Morley Area Fire Department for 52 years. The American flag was displayed in the center of the street from the ladder of the Howard City Fire Deparment’s large truck which led his funeral procession, and followed by the Morley Fire Department and rescue squad trucks. The Morley Fire Department trucks were in the front of the station as they passed by. Mr. Smith was in the US Marines during the Korean conflict and a member of the American Legion #554 in Morley and serverd on the Deerfield Township Board for many years. He was 79 years old when he lost his battle with cancer on August 15, 2012.

Thank you, to all of you who participated in the Joel Stone Memorial Golf Tournament, also the small businesses who donated prizes and Grandma Del, Uncle Ger, Aunt Jo, Cousin Rod, Lisa Synder and Judy Robinson. Special thanks go to Tom Cargill, Duke Saboo and Nick Pope for organizing this event and donating all the great prizes. It is with sincere gratitude that we extend this note of thanks to those who supported us at the time of Jim’s death. Thanks to friends and family who visited both at hospice and the funeral home, those who send cards and flowres, those who brought food, and those who put your arms around us in so many ways. A special thanks goes to Pastor Robert Eckert and the ladies of Courtland-Oakfield United Methodist Church, and the staff at Trillium Woods Hopsice who were so kind. Thanks also to Dave Pederson and the staff at Pederson Funeral Home who went above and beyond the call of duty.
