Thanks to the good Lord, all of us (including the dog) got out of the house unharmed from our house fire on Christmas Day. We would like to say Thanks to our family, friends, neighbors and most important the “Dog.” Your offers of help, your cards of encouragement, your acts of kindness, the good advice we were given when our minds were numb, the gifts of money, warm clothes & hot coffee. Cell phones were used and given, instruction to make and take calls, small note pads for notes and numbers. Warm houses to go to, your vehicles to drive and your help removing things that were left. For all these things we are very thankful, and we are very blessed for the wonderful support from all of you. And to all the firefighters, you went above the beyond to fight this fire and help save what we could. We Thank You.

Milo

Milo and Shadow made their great escape on Tuesday, Nov 22.
Milo was flying,  bounding aimlessly for miles.
Shadow is extremely timid, but was sure that Milo would not lead her astray.
She was wrong.
Thanks to the employee of The Cedar Springs Post, and her loving family,
They were saved twice, this day.
They rescued them from a sure death on Main Street.  Milo and Shadow have no knowledge or respect for cars.  But thankfully, they both love to ride in them.
After exhausting all efforts to find the missing pair’s home, they welcomed the duo into their own home.
Because of their kindness,  we were able to be reunited on Wednesday.
You completed my Thanksgiving.  Thank you so much for caring.

Rose, Milo and Shadow

The Allen Family wishes to give their most heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Ida Red Group Home. We are thankful for the care and affection given to our beloved sister, daughter and aunt Kristan “Krissy” during her time with them.
It makes our heart swell knowing that she was greeted every day with a hug, which she gave and received willing and completely. We could feel peace knowing that she was happy and cared for with love and understanding.
Also, we would like to express our appreciation for the lovely memorial service that was held for her.
It is an emotion that cannot be conveyed with just words, but here they are, “Thank you.”

A special thank you to the Cedar Springs Baptist Church for hosting the luncheon. It had special meaning for me as Tom and I were married there and began our lives together in 1947. Life has come full circle with it ending there after nearly 65 years.

I greatly appreciate the opportunity to have been a teacher in Cedar Springs. I wish to thank the School Boards past and present. I wish to thank the following principals: Mr. Nielsen, Mrs. Marvin, Ms. Abuhl, Mrs. Engblade, Mrs. Rypma, Mr. McDermed, and Mr. Duffy. I wish to thank the Cedar Springs Public School Community (support and teaching). I wish to thank the students and their parents who I was allowed to serve. I wish to thank my family, also.
I have been truly blessed to work in my district. The district I grew up in. The district I live in. The district I worship in. The district that puts our students’ education first.
Our district, with limited funding, is continually creating educational opportunities for our students that are noteworthy. Our district has a professional commitment at all levels with all staff to constantly improve. Our district sets the standard for others to follow.
This is why I am thankful to be associated with Cedar Springs Public Schools.
