Your Prayers are Needed

Our daughter, Darlene Walls, graduated from CSHS in 1970. She was diagnosed on June 19th with a rare cartilage cancer in the left side of her mouth. She was operated on July 17th at the University of Indianapolis for the removal of the upper jaw, teeth, palate, upper throat and inside of the nose. She had another cancer removal on July 3rd. After recovery, she will have Proton Therapy for 8 weeks. Down the road reconstructive surgeries will take place. She has a long road ahead of her. She speech is limited at this time. Congratulations Beau Jewell

Beau Jewell, son of Rhonda and James Jewell has been accepted to Harvard University to begin work on his MBA. Beau is a graduate of Cedar Springs High School and completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering at Kettering University. He has worked for Schlumberger Ltd., in the oil industry for the past 4 years. Beau is on leave of absence and will spend the next 2 years at Harvard.

Community Service Recognition Award


Doug & Val Bickle has received Gleaner Life Insurance Society’s Community Service Recognition Award. This award is presented to individuals who work at the local or grass-roots level and live by the true spirit of volunteerism, which is the cornerstone of the fraternal benefit system. Doug & Val Bickle were honored by Gleaner’s Grand Arbor. The award was presented on July 28, 2012 at Gary & Rosemary Mills’ home. They were selected because of  their volunteer efforts with “Meals on Wheels” and delivering food to food pantries.
