50th Wedding Anniversary

Gerald (Jerry) & Beverly (Bev) Schaap are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on October 5, 2012. In 1962, they got married on her mother, Varita DeVries’ birthday and her parents, Francis (Gus) & Varita DeVries wedding anniversary.

One year later on October 5th 1963, Jerry’s widowed grandma, Eva Bond, married Clarench Mowen.

Two years after Jerry & Bev were married, on October 5, 1964, their first child, David N. Schaap was born. Four years later on March 5, 1968, their daughter, Sue L. Schaap was born.

Curt & Lois Phillips of Sand Lake are celebrating their 50th Anniversary. The happy duo were married June 30th 1962 at the United Methodist Church in Cedar Springs.

Mr. & Mrs. Phillips have two children, Tim (Beth) Phillips, Michelle (Jeff) Paepke. Three grandchildren, Kari (Larry) Magoon, Andrew & Nathan Phillips and one great-grandson, Dylan Paepke, all of Sand Lake.
Curt & Lois have always enjoyed traveling & camping with family.

Julie worked 16 plus years at Ionia Public School-Heartlands and traveled several years as “Aunt Julie” to Bible School Programs. They are both active on their small farm of 49 years and in their church, Impact of Lowell-Saranac.
Their children are David Jr. (Cheri) of Albuquerque, NM and Kathy (Bill) Besson of Saranac. The joys of their lives, their three handsome grandsons, David III, Trevor and Bryce.

Joel and Hope Austin of Cedar Springs will celebrate their 50th Anniversary June 15, 2012. An open house is planned for June 30th from 2 – 4 pm at First Baptist Church in Cedar Springs. The couple’s children are Murry and Diane Austin, David & Nicole Austin, and Mindy and Bob Abbott. They have 9 grandchildren and are expecting their first great grandchild. Joel and Hope feel the secret to their long marriage is “God first in your life and He’ll take care of the rest.”

Chuck and Frances Hamilton of Cedar Springs, Michigan, are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary on May 12, 2012. A family gathering is planned for the weekend. They are celebrating with their four children and their families; Deb and Terry Avery, Kim and Malcom Davies, Marg and Cliff Sadler, Chuck II and Sue Hamilton. The couple have been blessed with six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Chuck and Donna Scheidel

Chuck and Donna Scheidel of Cedar Springs, Michigan are celebrating their 50th  Wedding Anniversary on April 28, 2012. A weekend outing is planned. Children of Chuck and Donna are Alan and Annette Mongar, Paul and Shelly Bowerman, Mike Scheidel, and Chuck Scheidel. They have seven grandchildren.

25th Anniversary

Robert and Shelli (Hanna) Hall will celebrate their 25th Anniversary on April 25th. They celebrated early with a cruise to the Bahamas. Their daughter Nicole will graduate from GVSU, son Joshua is attending Ferris State. The family will celebrate with a dinner at a later date.
