The Post travels to Fiji

Samantha and Emilee Pastoor, of Courtland Township, recently took the Post with them on a trip to the Fiji Islands. Samantha gave the trip to Emilee as a graduation present, after she graduated recently with highest honors from Cedar Springs High School. While in Fiji, the girls spent 12 days on two different islands. They went snorkeling, scuba diving, hiking, and even skydiving.

That sounds like a great trip! Thanks so much for taking us with you!

The Post travels to Africa

Paul and Judy Stark, of Cedar Springs, and Dave and Jan Malmo, of Howard City, had an amazing opportunity to visit an African Masai tribe as part of a 2-1/2 week trip to Tanzania, Africa in May.

“These people live today the same as their ancestors did hundreds of years ago,” explained Jan.

The friends spent nine days on safari in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater viewing dozens of indigenous animals and birds. “The wildebeest migration was awesome as thousands of these animals ran for miles and miles in lines,” said Jan.

They also saw herds of zebra, cape buffalo, lions, elephants, baboons, rhinos, leopards and giraffes. And a curious cheetah jumped up on their safari vehicle to have a look around! “That was beyond exciting since the roof and all the windows were open!” she remarked.

The Starks and Malmos felt blessed to have such an awesome opportunity.

The Post travels to Peru

With the assistance and expertise of travel agent Lori Visser, Ken and TJ Norris traveled to Peru in mid-March and took along the Post. They made stops in the beautiful Miraflores neighborhood of Lima, the Inca “Navel of the World” city of Cusco, and the Sacred Valley in the Andes. The high point (in scenic view if not altitude) was, of course, the famous Inca ruins at Machu Picchu, but for their 24th anniversary the Cedar Springs pair also visited several other nearly-as-impressive ruins. The woman shown with The Post and the llama were at the Urubamba ruins.

Thank you, Ken and TJ, for taking us with you to Peru!

Now that would’ve been a story!

The Post travels to Hawaii

The Cedar Springs Post recently left the chilly Michigan weather behind and traveled to warmer weather in our 50th state—Hawaii—with Cedar Springs City Manager Mike Womack.

He is shown here with the Post in front of the Duke Kahanamoku statue in front of Kuhio Beach in Waikiki, Honolulu, Hawaii.

We are jealous, Mike! Please bring back some of that warm weather with you!
