On Saturday, October 2, the Red Hawks welcomed nine marching bands from across the region to host the 61st Red Flannel Invitational.

In class B, Otsego took first place with a score of 92.2. Ionia scored 83.7 to place second and Kenowa Hills scored 79.8 to place in third.

In class C Tri-County scored 86.7 to place in first. Whitehall took second with a score of 83.3, Montague came in third with 79.3 and Oakridge placed in fourth with a score of 64.7.

Fulton was the only school in class D to attend and scored 57.4.

Cedar Springs performed their show, The Eternal Circus, for exhibition only.

Following the invitational, Cedar Springs, Fulton and Tri-County participated in the parade.

Senior Drum Major Gabe White says, “It was so nice to see the stadium as full as it was! It’s been amazing to see the community support that we’ve had this year! And a special thanks to all of the band volunteers who made it all possible!”

The next opportunity to see the band perform is this upcoming Friday, October 8, at the Cedar Springs homecoming football game. The next competition for the marching Red Hawks is October 16, in Portage Northern.
