Four talented players comprised the top positions on the Cedar Springs girls tennis team: Olivia Miller #1, Ella Moore #2, Kaitlyn Miller #3, and Morgan French #4. They provided the team with positive leadership, and achieved the majority of individual match wins this season.

The seniors, captains Olivia and Ella, posted many match wins at the top of the tennis ladder. Olivia received All-Conference status. One of the coaches stated that “both girls demonstrated a mastery of tennis fundamentals, rapid improvements in their game, and were always pleasant and courteous individuals to work with.” Ella and Olivia, both honor students, will be continuing their education at colleges in the fall.

The #3 and #4 singles, Kaitlyn and Morgan, gave the singles line-up quality and depth in the talent pool. Kaitlyn displayed a solid ground stroke game with usually a dependable spin serve. Morgan showed great athleticism, with great consistency and a dependable serve. Both girls were able to bring their games to another level when the competition demanded it.

All four of the singles girls were supported by the doubles girls. The doubles often provided that one point needed to seal a victory in a closely contested match. Many of the doubles players were first year players, but improvements slowly showed in their match results. All the returning players seem to be looking forward to adding to their tennis fundamentals this summer, and move up the tennis ladder next season.
