Hometown Happenings 9-3-2020

Hometown Happenings articles are a community service for non-profit agencies only. Due to popular demand for placement in this section, we can no longer run all articles. Scout Ceremonies

Sept. 9: On September 9th at 6:30 pm, Scouts USA Troops 222B, 222G and Cub Scout Pack 3220 will conduct a Flag Retirement Ceremony to demonstrate the proper disposal of unserviceable USA Flags. This will be followed by a Court of Honor where members of Troops 222B and 222G will be presented merit badges and rank advancements they have earned this year. As the concluding event, Cub Scout Pack 3220 will hold their traditional Cross Over Ceremony where the Cub Scouts are officially inducted into the Scout Troops. The ceremonies will be held at the south end of Morley Park parking lot. Those attending need to bring their own seating and plan to sit in family groups to maintain the required social distancing. Masks will need to be worn during the event. #36

Blood Drive at CS UMC

Sept. 15: A Michigan Blood Drive will be held on Tuesday, September 15th at the Cedar Springs United Methodist Church located at 140 S Main Cedar Springs. The drive is will go from 12:30pm until 7pm. To schedule an appointment visit https://donate.michigan.versiti.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/108185 A patient could be forced to pass up a lifesaving organ, if compatible blood is not available to support the transplant. #36

Fall Rummage Sale

Sept. 17-19: The Sand Lake United Methodist Women’s Fall Rummage Sale will be held on Thurs, Fri, & Sat September 17,18,&19 weather permitting. We have moved our annual sale up from October to September so we can be outside. We will be accepting donations on Friday and Sat. Sept 11&12 from 9-Noon at the Church. #34-38
