Winter sports wrap-up

By the Athletic Leadership Council

Winter sports at Cedar Springs High School are drawing to a close much as the winter weather.

The girl’s basketball program ended their season last week on a tough loss to Forest Hills Northern. Despite the district loss, the girls maintained a winning record on the season and finished with an admirable effort.

Also last week, junior wrestler Trevor Marsman went to the State Wrestling Tournament. Marsman finished second in division two. We look forward to seeing him build on this success in his senior year.

In other State-wide competitions, the Varsity Cheer squad made their way to the state competition again this year. We congratulate the girls on a great season and hope for another one next year.

The boys varsity basketball team put up a fight Monday night against Forest Hills Northern in their first district game. While the game ended in a tough defeat for Cedar, the boys battled out till the end and left a great season behind them.

We are very proud of all our winter sports athletes and now look forward to spring athletics.
