Vacation house check


Sgt. Todd Probst, with the Cedar Springs Unit of the Kent County Sheriff’s Office, let us know about a service they offer that just might give you some peace of mind when you go on vacation.

The Sheriff’s Office Vacation House Check is a service provided by the Kent County Sheriff’s Office using our Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS) and is designed for peace of mind when away from your home for an extended period of time (10 Days or more). VIPS will check the house for any signs of suspicious activity such as open doors, broken windows or other suspicious changes. Any situation that needs immediate attention will be addressed by a Kent County Sheriff’s Deputy. This service is offered to members of the community that live within the police jurisdiction of the Kent County Sheriff’s Office.

Click on the “Sheriff” drop down menu.

Click on “Sheriff Department Home” located on left side of screen.

Scroll down and click on blue tab “Vacation House Check” located on left side of screen.

Complete form completely the click “continue.”

Review your submission information, edit if necessary then click “Submit.”
