Unhappy about Sand Lake Halloween party cancellation

I am disappointed that the Sand Lake Fire Department is so selfish as to cancel the Halloween party this year. I am wondering if they are more concerned about their salary than the children they will disappoint. Maybe it is political, and the insurance to cover the event would come out of their salaries. I have heard the new Sand Lake President has been making things fiscally responsible.

Mary- I am so sorry you are disappointed in the Sand Lake Fire Department, let me tell you that they definitely are not selfish. Look what they do for our community. Do you realize how many years they have been involved in that Halloween party? I and my husband missed taking our children trick or treating so we could help and they are now 38 and 40 years old. What does that tell you? That’s a lot of years don’t you think? Oh yeah, if you knew how much they make for a fire run or rescue, barely pays for their gas. This is all volunteer, they do hold full time jobs as well. Have you ever offered to help with the party????? Maybe you should get your facts straight before you start accusing. These guys and gals put their lives on the line each and every day. Maybe you should be saying thank you instead of being disappointed and so negative.
