Celebrate Recovery

Sept. 26, Oct.3: City Impact, 288 N. Main St. will be holding meetings every Thursday to Celebrate Recovery, a Christ centered, 12 step recovery program for anyone struggling with hurt, habits or hangups of any kind. 6-6:30 pm – Meet & Greet, 6:30-8pm Celebrate Recovery. Healthy Tomorrows Program at Alpha Family Center

Sept. 26: Alpha Family Center has a new partnership with Christian Healthcare Centers and their Healthy Tomorrows program. This is a program that will provide prenatal, maternity care and well child care for mothers and children. We are planning on an Meet and Greet event on Thursday September 26 at Alpha from 4-6 pm for the community. #38,39b

Senior Fitness Classes

Oct.1,3: One out of three older adults fall each year and these falls are the leading cause of emergency department admissions. Falls can be a significant obstacle to healthy aging. There’s good news, too: physical activity has proven to help prevent falls. Senior Neighbors is pleased to be partnering with Cedar Springs Public Schools in offering a new fitness class in Cedar Springs! Open to anyone age 60 or older, these classes will focus on endurance, flexibility, strengthening, balance, and having fun. Classes began Tuesday, September 10th and will be offered each Tuesday and Thursday at 9:30 am in the board room at the Cedar Springs Public Schools hilltop building. Come when you can, do what you can do! Pre-registration is not required. These classes are available through the Kent County Senior Millage- donations are accepted, or use your Silver&Fit benefit! God’s Kitchen in Cedar Springs

Oct. 1,8,15,22,29: Join us for dinner every Tuesday. God’s Kitchen – Cedar Springs welcomes families from Northern Kent County and the surrounding area to a Tuesday Evening Meal. Used Book Sale at CS Public Library

Oct. 4,5: Cedar Springs Friends of the Library invite you to a  Used Book Sale on Friday, October 4 from 10 am – 6 pm and Saturday, October 5 from 9 am – 3 pm. Held at the Community Room in the CS Public Library. Hardcovers are $1 and paperbacks are 25¢. DVD’s and Books on tape also $1. All proceeds supplement the Library’s programs and special needs. #39,40p

Huge Book Sale at Spencer Twp. KDL

Oct. 5,6: Spencer Township Library, 14960 Meddler Ave., Gowen, will be holding a huge book sale on Saturday, October 5th from 9 am to 3 pm and Sunday, October 6th from 11 am to 1 pm. All types of books! Paperback and hardcover. Large selection of children’s, mystery, teens and fiction. #39,40p

Mom2Mom Sale at Courtland-Oakfield UMC

Oct. 5: Courtland-Oakfield United Methodist Church, 10295 Myers Lake Ave., Rockford will be hosting a Mom2Mom Sale & Halloween CostumeExchange on Saturday, October 5th from 9 am to 3 pm. 2nd Chance Fundraiser – Riding for the Brand

Oct. 5: 2nd Chance is having a fundraiser and will enjoy the music of Riding for the Brand, a family of muscians who play traditional cowboy and gospel music. They will also be sharing some cowboy poetry and cowboy lifestyle stories. Saturday, October 5 at 5:30 pm at 2nd Chance School, 810 – 17 Mile Rd., Cedar Springs. Included in the evening will be a bucket auction, door prizes, music and food. Come join us for this fundraiser after the Red Flannel Parade, a perfect way to end the day. Christmas Acoustical Instrumental Group

Oct. 7: Please join us for fun and fellowship through Christmas Music. Every Monday evenings in the sanctuary of the Cedar Springs United Methodist Church 140 S Main Street. We will be meeting October 7 thru December 2 at 7:00 pm. All instruments welcome! Sheet music is furnished for all woodwinds and strings at many playing levels.
