Celebrate Recovery

Sept. 19,26: City Impact, 288 N. Main St. will be holding meetings every Thursday to Celebrate Recovery, a Christ centered, 12 step recovery program for anyone struggling with hurt, habits or hangups of any kind. 6-6:30 pm – Meet & Greet, 6:30-8pm Celebrate Recovery. Praise in the Park

Sept. 22: The Sand Lake United Methodist Church invites you to the gazebo in Salisbury Park, Sand Lake, for a night of music and praise. Sunday, September 22nd at 6 pm. Bring a lawnchair and enjoy the music. #38

Senior Fitness Classes

Sept. 24,26: One out of three older adults fall each year and these falls are the leading cause of emergency department admissions. Falls can be a significant obstacle to healthy aging. There’s good news, too: physical activity has proven to help prevent falls. Senior Neighbors is pleased to be partnering with Cedar Springs Public Schools in offering a new fitness class in Cedar Springs! Open to anyone age 60 or older, these classes will focus on endurance, flexibility, strengthening, balance, and having fun. Classes began Tuesday, September 10th and will be offered each Tuesday and Thursday at 9:30 am in the board room at the Cedar Springs Public Schools hilltop building. Come when you can, do what you can do! Pre-registration is not required. These classes are available through the Kent County Senior Millage- donations are accepted, or use your Silver&Fit benefit! Healthy Tomorrows Program at Alpha Family Center

Sept. 26: Alpha Family Center has a new partnership with Christian Healthcare Centers and their Healthy Tomorrows program. This is a program that will provide prenatal, maternity care and well child care for mothers and children. We are planning on an Meet and Greet event on Thursday September 26 at Alpha from 4-6 pm for the community. #38

Volley for the Cure

Sept. 30: The CSHS Lady Redhawks Volleyball Program will be raising money for cancer research! Join us for a fantastically fun evening as our Lady Redhawks go up against Forest Hills Northern. Monday, September 30th from 5 to 9 pm at Cedar Springs High School, 204 E. Muskegon St. There will be a silent auction and a 50/50 raffle! Lots of great gifts to win when you bid and donate. You can purchase t-shirts with the logo Volley For a Cure. Because several of our families have battled or continues to fight thru cancer all proceeds will go to the Van Andel Institute specific to cancer research. #38
