Thelma M. Morris, age 97, of Cedar Springs, died Friday, February 1, 2019 at her home with her family by her side. Thelma was born May 2, 1921 in Cedar Springs, MI the daughter of Garner and Jessie (Heiss) Goodell. She had been a waitress at Cedar Cafe and had worked for Richard Baldridge DDS and Richard Dodd DDS. She was a member of the Cedar Springs Women’s Club, Grand A’s Model A Club and helped set up the dinners at the American Legion Hall. She was a good and loving grandmother. Surviving are her grandsons, Roger “Rip” (Kenda) Gillette, Michael (Lisa) Gillette, Jeffrey Gillette; great-grandchildren, Stacey Gillette, Jenna (Joshua) Bielecki, Kourtney (Justin) Langdon, Jessie (Nic) Pemberton, Erin (Matt) Smith, Arlenea Gillette, Audrey Geglio-Gillette; great-great-grandchildren, Josie, Everlie, Noah, Brady, Gianna, Bennett, Kenzie; sisters, Marie Bigney, Donna Rhoades; several nieces and nephews; special friend and neighbor, Pam Morris. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley in 2000; daughters, Cheryl Morris, Arlene (Roger) Gillette; brothers, Leon, Richard, and Donald Goodell; sister, Norma Robinson. The family greeted friends Tuesday, Feb. 5th at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs where the service was held Wednesday 11:00 a.m. Interment Blythefield Memory Gardens, Belmont. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners International or Faith Hospice.
