GVSU, Vicksburg, Chippewa Hills & Caledonia Duals

This past weekend, West Michigan Pursuit spread out and had grapplers enter into several different competitions. 

80 lb Luke Egan and 88 lb Tyler Parmeter travelled to Caledonia to wrestle on Cedar Springs 6 Grade and Under Duals Team. Egan went 5-0 and Parmeter went 4-0 for the day. Cedar Springs took 1st in their Pool and finished 2nd overall.

WMP had four travel to the South West Region at Vicksburg for the Championship rings offered. All four claimed Championship titles and came home with their rings. Congratulations to 75 lb Quinten Cassiday, 9/10 age group; 52 lb Brody Compau, 7/8 age group; 80 lb Luke Egan, 11/12 age group and 75 lb Josh Vasquez, 11/12 age group. 

The North Greights tournament took place at Chippewa Hills and we had four enter to compete. 57 lb Carter Giles, 9/10 age group finished 3rd. 69 lb Evan Andrews, 9/10 age group finished 2nd. North Greights Champions are 66 lb Kellen Weckesser, 9/10 age group and 43 lb Kooper Witte, 4/6 age group. 

The West Region was held at GVSU and we had nine enter to compete. 80 lb Harper Cheng, 11/12 age group finished 4th. 64/67 lb Jaxen Bowyer, 7/8 age group and 58 lb Dylan Russo, 7/8 age group finished 3rd. GVSU Champions are 80 lb Alex Buskirk, 11/12 age group; 58 lb Tatianna Castillo, 7/8 age group and 95 lb Blake Peasley, 11/12 age group. 

“Wrestling and my team is my passion,” said Head Coach Dave Andrus. “This group of kids has earned a reputation as a force to be reckoned with. I am very thankful to my wrestlers and their parents for their support and allowing me to make an impact on their lives. Sharing my knowledge to those who wish to learn makes all of my efforts worth it.”
