Get a Free Meal at the Table

Nov. 8: the Table, a ministry of The Springs Church, will serve a free meal every Thursday, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. for anyone in the community who would like to come. The church is located at the corner of Oak and Grant Streets, in Cedar Springs. For more info, please call 696-2970. #45

Attention Cedar Football Fans

Nov. 9: Come support your Red Hawk football team as they compete in the Regional Championship game THIS FRIDAY at Grand Haven High School, 7 pm Kick-off. The game will be played at Grand Haven High School, but your Hawks will be playing top ranked and undefeated Muskegon. We need your support. There is a blackout theme for the game, everyone come out in black and support your Hawks. Tickets are $6 and can be purchased on Thursday and Friday in the athletic office until 3 pm. Cookie Walk at Holy Spirit Episcopal Church

Nov. 10: Holy Spirit Episcopal Church is holding its annual Cookie Walk and Christmas Delites sale on Saturday, November 10 from 9 am to 3 pm. The church is located at 1200 Post Drive NE in Belmont (corner of Post and Pine Island drives, just off Exit 95 of US 131). Featuring our “world-famous” Cookie Walk–come early for the best selection! We’ll also have Baked Goods, Crafts, Santa’s Attic and a Silent Auction. The Christmas Delites sale is sponsored by Holy Spirit’s Episcopal Church Women group (ECW), and funds our support for various church activities, such as kitchen supplies, funeral refreshments, the Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry, the Explore & Soar Reading Club, and more. Veteran’s Day in Sparta

Nov. 10: The Sparta Township Historical Commission is presenting  “A Thank You from Sparta School Staff, Students and Alumni” in Sparta on Saturday, November 10th. The Sparta High School doors open at 1 pm. Sparta Alumni Ted Badgerow will MC, with Sparta High School Principal Matt Spencer, Paul Owens and Kevin Shuneson, Music by the Sparta High Jazz Band under the direction of Jim Walsh, Sparta Alumni and retired Staff Larry Carter and Sparta Alumni Quartet, Sparta Township Supervisor and Sparta Alumni Dale Berman and his “Hot” Sax. Please join the Sparta American Legion and many other Sparta area organizations and individuals in honoring our Vets.  Several Sparta restaurants and clubs will be serving FREE dinner to all Veterans starting after our event! #44,45p

Holiday Marketplace in Greenville

Nov. 10: Start your Holiday Shopping at the Greenville Area Senior Citizen Center, 715 S. Baldwin, Greenville, during their Holiday Marketplace event, taking place on Saturday, November 10th, from 9am – 3pm.  Handmade crafts from various vendors, homemade baked goods, and Christmas décor and gifts will be available.  Entrance and free parking is in rear of building.  Order a homemade deep dish apple pie for $10 available for pick-up just prior to Thanksgiving Day.  Proceeds from this sale go to fund the Senior Citizen, a 501©3 not-for-profit organization that benefits senior citizens from Greenville and the surrounding area. #44,45p

Feature Film Debut at 2nd Chance

Nov. 11: 2nd Chance School will be featuring the film “A Second Chance”, an unforgettable story about friends, failures, families, forgiveness and faith for FREE. It will debut on Sunday, November 11th at 6 pm at 2nc Chance School, 810 – 17 Mile Rd., Cedar Springs. For more information, call 616-293-2150. 2nd Chance Corporation School for troubled teens is in the building stage and will admit students of any race, color and national or ethnic origin.  #45

TOPS weight loss support group

Nov. 13: Take off pounds sensibly (TOPS), a non-profit weight loss support group for men and women, meets every Tuesday at the Resurrection Lutheran Church in Sand Lake. Your first visit is free so come check out what TOPS can do to help you reach your weigh loss goals! Weigh-ins 8:15-9am, meeting starts at 9:15am. In case of inclement weather, meetings are canceled if Tri-County or Cedar Springs schools are closed. Call Martha at 696-1039 for more information. #45

Senior Lunch at Pine Grove Church

Nov. 14: Gobble, gobble, gobble, it’s the last Senior Lunch of the year.  The cook’s are perusin the pantry figurin what to serve with Turkey Breast.  Will it be over biscuits, a casserole, or thick slices along side mashed taters both slathered with gravy next to a tasty veggie piled high?  Gotcha guessin now … eh?  All our friends aged 60 and those aged even more, come on by the 14h at Noon here on our corner of M-82 & Beech to find out the answer. #45

Rogue River Watershed Meeting

Nov. 14: The Rogue River Watershed Partners invites all interested citizens, who live in and care about, the Rogue River Watershed, to attend our monthly board meetings. The next meeting will be on November 14th, starting at 9:30 am, at Cannon Township Hall, 6878 Belding Road, Rockford, 49341. Fundraising Auction for Pine Ridge Bible Camp

Nov. 17: Silent & Live Fundraising Auction for Pine Ridge Bible Camp, Saturday, November 17th at the Cedar Springs High School Cafeteria. Registration starts at 5:30 pm. Silent Auction begins at 6:00 pm. Appetizers and desserts will be provided. This is an adult only event. We currently have donations, homemade items and gift baskets from many businesses and organizations. #45

Courtland Oakfield UMC Holiday Bazaar

Nov. 17: Courtland Oakfield United Methodist Church, 10295 Myers Lake Ave., Rockford (between 12 & 13 Mile Rd.), will hold its 18th Annual Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, November 17th from 9 am – 3 pm. Over 40 crafters, Grandma’s attic, bake sale, silent auction, cookies by the pound, lunch from 11 am to 2 pm. #45,46b

Christmas Card Making Class

Nov. 30: Christmas Card Making Class will be held on Friday, November 30th from 9am-Noon at the Cedar Springs Public Schools Administration. Participants will create up to 20 cards using stamp, punches, embellishments and more. These are a great way to send special notes over the holidays or attach with gifts. The course is $35 and includes most supplies. Please bring you own adhesive stickers and scissors. Registration deadline is November 19th and can be done through Cedar Springs Area Parks and Recreation. Forms are online at www.csaparksandrec.com or at their office in the CSPS Hilltop Building. #45,46b

Jingle Bell Run

Dec. 1: Gather up your family, friends, and co-workers and enjoy ringing in the holidays at the Jingle Bell Run, an untimed 1 mile fun run/walk on Dec. 1st. Participants under 5 are free, ages 5-10 $5, ages 11 and up $10. Registration starts at 9 am between Hilltop and Red Hawk Elementary. Run starts at 9:30 am. Jingle bells will be provided by the Senior All Night Party committee. Runners/walkers are encouraged to dress in their holiday attire and ugly holiday sweaters for a 1 mile route beginning at the CS Schools District Offices, meander through the downtown side streets, and end at the CS Springs Church parking lot. Whether you are as fast as Santa’s reindeer, or more of a “I’d rather eat Santa’s cookies” participant, we’d love to welcome all ages and abilities to join us to fill the streets with holiday sounds and cheer. You could even win the most festive or ugliest holiday sweater contests. Register by Monday, November 26 by mailing form and payment to CSHS, attn: SANP (204 E. Muskegon, CS 49319), or contact cssanp19@gmail.com. All funds raised support the CS Senior All Night Party, a safe and fun night for the Class of 2019 to celebrate their accomplishments after graduation. #45
