Red Hawk volleyball news

The Cedar Springs Varsity Volleyball team competed in a busy week last week with two conference matches and a Saturday tournament. The Lady Red Hawks took a loss (0-3) to host team Forest Hills Central on Tuesday evening, September 18, followed by a home loss to the Northview Wildcats (0-3), on Thursday, September 20.

The team competed at the Zeeland East Invite Saturday, September 22, losing in Pool Play to Zeeland East (23-25;18-25), Greenville (11-25;12-25), West Catholic (11-25;19-25) and Wyoming (19-25;22-25) ultimately eliminating the team from Bracket competition. Leaders for the day include Michelle Brennan with 5 aces and 14 service points, 3 kills, 46 serve receives and 8 digs. Kaylie Andres debuting in the setter position due to team injuries posted an impressive 21 assists, 4 kills, 2 aces,12 service points,3 blocks and 8 digs. Grace Pavelka added 11 digs and 5 blocks while Kyla Andres contributed 8 kills, 4 aces,18 digs and 2 blocks. Libero Haillie Jones tallied 47 serve receives and 24 digs.

Red Hawk volleyball (7-16-1) returns to action on Thursday, September 27, when they travel to Greenville for a 6 p.m. match.
