2nd Chance Christmas Tree Fundraiser

Dec. 14-17: Support 2nd Chance School by purchasing a beautiful fresh Christmas Tree. Christmas trees will be available for sale, Thursday and Friday 4-8 pm, Saturday 1-8 pm, Sunday noon-5 pm, at 2nd Chance School, 810 17 Mile Road  Cedar Springs (corner of 17 Mile Road and Olin Lakes Road, 4 miles west of 131). We have scotch pine, blue spruce, black hills spruce, and balsam fir. Sizes are 3’ – 10’ tall. There are also a few 24” Frasier Fir decorated wreaths for sale. Support 2nd Chance by purchasing a Christmas tree. The school is in the building stage, which when completed, will teach troubled teens through God and the horse. If you have questions, call 616-293-2150. #50b

Cookie Walk

Dec. 16: North Kent Presbyterian Church will host its 20th Annual Christmas Cookie Walk Saturday morning, December 16th from 9:00 until gone. Still only $7.00/box or 3 boxes/$20.00…Public VERY welcome! Choose your own selection from more than 25 varieties of delicious homemade Christmas cookies. The church is located at 6175 Kuttshill Drive NE, Rockford (1 block west of Wolverine Blvd., north of Rogue River, just north of Blythefield Country Club.) Come early for a great selection! Cookies make great gifts for neighbors, teachers, mail carriers, and friends, too! Our church cook book will also be available for sale. Michigan Blood Drive

Dec. 19: A Michigan Blood Drive will be held on December 19th at the Cedar Springs United Methodist Church from 12:30 pm until 7:00 pm. Members of the Cedar Springs Women’s Club will be providing homemade cookies. In this season of giving, this is a gift that does not cost you anything but an hour of your time. Your donation has the potential to save three lives in Michigan. The Michigan Blood Center thanks all the people that donate at the Cedar Springs blood drive. #50


HCNC’s Winter Day Camp 

Dec. 27-29: Get rid of winter break boredom. Experience the wonder of nature, as we explore the subnivean world. Camps will include hikes (with snowshoes if weather cooperates!), crafts, games, animal info, and Native American studies including archery.Wednesday will be dedicated to exploring the world of animals in their habitats. Thursday will include winter games and crafts galore. Friday will explore survival fun in the winter conditions. Come hang out with Miss Jen, and turn your winter weather “blahs” into snowing spectacular “wohoos”! December 27th, 28th and 29th from 10 am to 2 pm at Howard Christensen Nature Center, 16160 Red Pine Drive, Kent City, 616-675-3158.
