Chicken BBQ and Rummage Sale

Sept. 8,9: Courtland Oakfield United Methodist Church, 10295 Myers Lake Rd., Rockford, is having their annual Chicken BBQ, Rummage and Bake Sale. The rummage and bake sale is Friday, September 8th from 9 am to 4 pm, Saturday, September 9th, from 9 am to 7 pm. BBQ Chicken will be available on Saturday, September 9th from 4 to 7 pm. Half chicken and fixin’s, dine in or carry out. $10.00. All proceeds go toward community programs in 2018. #35,36b

Rockford American Legion Picnic

Sept. 10: American Legion Post #120 in Rockford will hold its 10th Anniversary Picnic on Sunday, September 10th from 12 noon to 6 pm. Public Welcome! Chicken Dinner, Adults $6.00, kids $2.00. Games, horseshoe tournament, music and prizes. #35,36p

Praise the Lord at Cowboy Church

Sept. 10: 2nd Chance will be having Cowboy Church on Sunday, September 10th at 6 pm. It will be at 2nd Chance School at 810 – 17 Mile Rd. Cedar Springs (corner of 17 Mile and Olin Lakes Rd). The music and ministry will be shared by The Old Time Gospel Singers music group.  Invite your family and friends. Cowboy Church will be every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month. Each service will have different people sharing God’s word and music. Cowboy Church will introduce you to 2nd Chance and its vision. The school is in the building stage, which when completed, will teach troubled teens through God and the horse. If you have questions, call 616-293-2150. See you there! #36b

Kidzone & GriefShare at Hillcrest Community Church

Sept. 13: On Wednesday, September 13th Hillcrest Community Church, 5994 – 18 Mile Rd., will host two events. Kidzone returns to the church at 6-7:30 pm for ages 4 to 5th grade and GriefShare, a nationally recognized program for people grieving the death of a family member or friend. The Gathering at Calvary Baptist Church

Sept. 17: The Gathering, a young-adults group (18-29) of Calvary Baptist Church, would like to announce a series that starts Sunday, September 17th: “What’s Next: Navigating Adulthood”. Wine and Water Colors RESCHEDULED

Sept. 20: This event has been rescheduled from September 9th to the 20th. Meet our resident artist Tracey, as she takes you through the steps of creating your own masterpiece! Joined by Kare our Sommelier, you are sure to have an enjoyable evening, full of laughter. Saturday, September 20th from 6 to 8 pm. $35 per person, $20 for members. This is an adult only event. Red Pine Run

Oct. 8: Howard Christensen Nature Center will host the Red Pine Run on Sunday, October 8th at 2 pm.  $25 or create at team of 4 people and receive $3 off per entry/ members $20. Walk or run our cross-country style 5k, with the best scenery in West Michigan! Everyone registered by October 1st will receive a free T-shirt. Refreshments provided post-race. Drawings with prizes, and medals to the top three in each category. Register online, or by calling the office.
