Movie in the Park & Sidewalk Sales

June 9,10: The Cedar Springs Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a Movie-In-The-Park on Friday, June 9th at dusk in Morley Park. The movie is “The Goonies.” On Saturday, June 10th there will be an Artisan Market and Sidewalk Sales from 10 am – 4 pm with over 40 different vendors. #23b

Grief Share Program

June 14: A Grief Share program has started on Wednesday, June 7th. Group leaders are Tony and Tammy Falbe. GRIEFSHARE video sessions are designed to help hurting people travel the journey from mourning to joy. Join our sessions on Wednesdays at 6 pm, Hillcrest Community Church, 5993 – 18 Mile Rd. Please call Tammy at 616-914-7081 to RSVP. If you have suffered loss of a loved one, then this is for you. #23

Flag Day Ceremony

June 10: Gleaner Grand Arbor would like to invite the Sand Lake/Cedar Springs area to a Flag Day Ceremony at the Sand Lake Library in Sand Lake on June 10th at 10 am. Refreshments to follow after the ceremony. #22,23p

View From The Hill

June 10: You are invited to enjoy the Start of Summer Celebration fireworks from the hill at Rockford Reformed Church 4890 – 11 Mile Rd NE. At 8 pm, come enjoy free popcorn, refreshments, and children’s activities. Please bring a chair or a blanket, your family and friends, and enjoy the beauty of the fireworks from the top of the hill at Rockford Reformed Church. Hope to see you there! #23p

Velzy Park Fund Raiser

June 10: A Community Wide Sales and Craft Show will be held on Saturday, June 10th from 9 am to 2 pm, 15185 Algoma Ave. NE. A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 11 am to celebrate our new walking path. Hot dog lunch (fee) 12pm until gone, 50/50 raffle, basket raffles, T-shirts. Come have fun and help us build a great park for the kids and community! #23

Praise the Lord at Cowboy Church

June 11: 2nd Chance will be having Cowboy Church on Sunday, June 11th  at 6 pm. It will be at 2nd Chance School at 810 – 17 Mile Rd. Cedar Springs (corner of 17 Mile and Olin Lakes Rd). The message and gospel music will be shared by Harmonica Traditions, who will play a mix of familiar gospel, country and inspirational songs they have shared at many regional venues. Invite your family and friends. Cowboy Church will be every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month. Each service will have different people sharing God’s word and music. Cowboy Church will introduce you to 2nd Chance and its vision. The school is in the building stage, which when completed, will teach troubled teens through God and the horse. Vacation Bible School @ Solon Center Wesleyan Church

June 11-15: Hey kids!  You are uniquely wired and wonderfully made! Learn why & how at Gadgets & Gizmos Vacation Bible School, which begins on Sunday, June 11th @ 6:30-8 pm, with a “Family Night” where the whole family can join the fun. “The Night of the Hunter” Readers Theatre

June 15: The Cedar Springs Library and Actors del Arte invite you to a Readers Theatre in the Library’s Community Room on Thursday, June 15th at 7pm for adults. They will be sharing “The Night of the Hunter” by Davis Grubb, which takes place in the American South during the Great Depression, and is based on the real life crimes of serial killer Harry Powers. #23

Alpha Family Center LifeWalk

June 17: Alpha Family Center will hold its 22nd Annual LifeWalk – Humanity 101 on Saturday, June 17th at 10 am Morley Park in Cedar Springs. There will also be a 5K LifeRun at 8:30 am, registration at 7:30 am and a Kids FunRun (ages 5-11) at 9:15 am, LifeWalk at 10 am, registration at 9 am.
