Holy Week Events

Apr. 13,14,16: The Cedar Springs United Methodist Church invites all to worship with us this Holy Week. Our Lords Table is always open to all who love the Lord. Maundy Thursday April 13th, 7:00 pm, at East Nelson we will join East Nelson UMC celebrating Christ’s service to us and Holy Communion.

Good Friday April 14th 11:00 am – 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm we will be walking the Stations of the Cross at the Springs Church. Easter Sunday April 16th we will celebrate a risen Savior with a sunrise service at 8:00 am followed by breakfast at 9:00 am and our regular Easter Sunday Service at 10:15 am. Please make this a special week by joining us in worshiping the Lord. #15p

Easter Egg-Stravaganza @ Solon Center

Apr. 15: An Easter Egg-Stravaganza, a celebration for children will be held on Saturday, April 15th at the Solon Center Wesleyan Church. There’ll be hot dogs, candy, and an Easter Egg Hunt with 4,000 candy filled Easter Eggs! On display will be a Solon Township fire truck, Michigan State & Kent County Sheriff police cruisers and some hot rods. Registration begins at 11 am, and egg hunts will take place for all children 10 years and under beginning at Noon. Two bikes donated by Meijer will be given as grand prizes!! Easter Services at Crossfire Church

Apr. 16: Crossfire Church will be celebrating Easter with two services on Sunday, April 16th at 9 and 11 am. Childcare is available at the 11 am service only. The church is located at 4780 Cornfield Drive, off Northland, south of Cedar Springs. #15

Dinner at the Legion

Apr. 17: American Legion, 80 S. Main St. Cedar Springs, is hosting a Swiss Steak dinner on Monday, April 17th, from 5 – 7 pm. Included will be Swiss Steak, mashed potatoes & gravy, baked beans, veggies, salad, roll, drink and dessert. The cost is $9 for adults, children (15 and younger) $4.00. Come and enjoy home cooking. Michigan Blood Drive

Apr. 18: The Michigan Blood Drive will be held on Tuesday, April 18th at the Cedar Springs United Methodist Church from 12:30 to 7:00 pm. Each pint collected has the potential to save or extend the lives of three people. Be someone who cares! It just takes an hour of your time. The Blood Center thanks all the people that donate at the Cedar Springs Blood Drive. #15

Library Spring Book Sale

Apr. 20-22: The Nelson Township/Sand Lake KDL branch will hold their Spring Book Sale on Thursday, April 20th from 10 am to 7 pm, Friday, April 21st from 10 am to 7 pm and Saturday, April 22nd from 10 am to 2 pm. The sale will be held in the Library Community Room. The library is located at 88 Eighth St. in Sand Lake. 616-784-2007. #15,16p

Mystery Dinner Theater @ Solon Center

Apr. 21: Solon Center Wesleyan and the Cedar Springs Community Players will present “ Awesome 80’s Prom” Mystery Dinner Theater on Friday, April 21st. Doors open at 6 pm. Flat River Community Players

Apr. 21-23,28,29: The Flat River Community Players present the comedy “Sex Please We’re Sixty” (PG-rated) at the Greenville Area Community Center on April 21, 22, 28, & 29 at 7:30 pm and at 2 pm on April 23. Tickets are $13 adults, $11 seniors and students, and may be purchased online at www.flatriver.showclix.com, by phone at 1-888-71-TICKETS, in person at the GACC, or at the door at performances. #15

Spring Rummage Sale

Apr. 26, 27: The Cedar Springs United Methodist Church Women is hosting their Spring Rummage Sale in the Fellowship Hall on Wednesday, April 26th from 9 am to 7 pm and Thursday, April 27th from 9 am to 2 pm. There will be a bag sale on Thursday. The church is located on the corner of Main and Church Streets. Proceeds go toward their mission projects. #14,15p

Senior Lunch at Pine Grove Community Church  

Apr. 26: Cock yer ear and take a listen, there’s something happenin in the kitchen.  Hark! I hear what we’ve been missin; it’s Senior Lunch 2017 shinny new and glistenin.  Some old faithful and some brand new – say what, are we referring to you?  The menu varies each time anew; some meatloaf or casserole or maybe a stew or two.  The time and place have not changed for ease on your calendar to be arranged.  For those at least age 60 this invite is complete.  You know where it is we’ve saved you a seat.  At 12 Noon, April 26th at M-82 and Beech, our doors are wide open – Please come join us we politely insist. #15
