A Kent City woman was killed Monday, December 5, when her car veered off the road and hit a tree.

According to the Kent County Sheriff Department, Jillian Poore, 31, was traveling east on 21 Mile near Fruit Ridge, in Tyrone Township, in a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer, when the vehicle crossed the centerline and struck a tree about 8:45 a.m.

Police said she was seat-belted in. She was the only one in the vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation.

Funeral services will be December 9 at 11 a.m. at Beuschel Funeral Home.
