Student Early Release Days

School districts dedicated to creating Professional Learning Communities (PLC’s) provide opportunities for faculty and staff to work together as a team. Teams review curriculum, discuss instructional strategies, review and create common assessments, analyze data and review individual student progress to determine if any additional support is necessary.  Student Early Release days were designed to support student learning:

  • By providing time for teachers to review student data on a regular basis.
  • To make adjustments to teaching in order to increase student achievements.
  • By allowing teachers to provide best practice teaching every day in every classroom.
  • To improve the delivery to students through reviewing teaching research.

Students will release two (2) hours early on Student Early Release Days.  Times will vary by building.

Michigan Premier Student Accident Insurance

As a service to students and their families, our school is making available a student accident insurance plan for your child at a very nominal cost.  The district offers this program because of trends in rising family health and dental insurance costs, increased deductibles, co-payments, or lack of healthy or dental insurance coverage.

For more information, you can visit www.csredhawks.org Athletics page OR visit www.1stagency.com and then follow directions at “Find Your School”.  All questions about this insurance should be directed to First Agency, Inc. at (269) 381-6630 or toll free (800)243-6298.

Board of Education

Our school board members are entrusted with the important work of shaping the education of our youngest citizens. They dedicate countless hours to creating the mission, vision and goals that drive our schools. They are dedicated to creating a school culture where collaboration and continuous learning are valued and displayed throughout our system. The seven members of the Cedar Springs Board of Education do this by always keeping children as the center of their work and decision making.
