Lunch and Fun for Seniors

Live Indoor Nativity

Dec. 4,5: The Sand Lake United Methodist Church, 65 W. Maple St., will present a Live Indoor Nativity on Friday, December 4 from 6 to 8 pm and Saturday, December 5 from 1 to 3 pm. Experience the gift! $47,48p

Annual Cookie Walk

Dec. 5: St. Peter’s Ladies Guild’s Annual Cookie Walk will be Saturday, December 5th at 310 E. Division in Rockford from 9 am until the cookies are gone. The cookies are sold by the pound and you pick the combination. This is the perfect time to pick up cookies for the holidays. Proceeds help our Mission Projects throughout the year. #47,48p

Craft Show at Resurrection Lutheran Church

Dec. 5: Resurrection Lutheran Church, 180 Northland Drive, Sand Lake will be holding a Craft Show on Saturday, December 5th from 9 am to 2 pm, 30 vendors, bake sale and raffles. Great food! See you there. White elephant. #47,48p

Make & Take Ornaments

Dec. 5: The Cedar Springs Library invites YOU to make 2 Ornaments on Saturday, December 5 between 10am and 1pm; one to take home and one for the Community Christmas Tree in town. At 3pm come to the Tree Decorating Party on Main Street, across from City Hall. Cedar Springs Cheerleaders will be at the tree to help you and to share hot cocoa and good fun. #48

Annual Holiday Bazaar

Dec. 5: Old School Community Center Annual Holiday Bazaar and Santa Day on Saturday, December 5, 142 N Main Street in Casnovia.  Craft Show 8 am – 2 pm, all you can Eat Lions Club Breakfast 8 – 11 am. Cookie decorating for the kids. Santa visits from 10 am till Noon.  Free horse drawn wagon rides 10 am – Noon.   Lunch served  from  11 am till 1 pm.  Come shop and enjoy the fun.  For further information call Kelly at 616-914-9648. #48

Dinner at the Legion

Dec. 7: American Legion, 80 S. Main St. Cedar Springs, is hosting a pork chop dinner on Monday December 7th, from 5 – 7 pm. Included will be stuffing, mashed potatoes, veggies, salad, roll, drink and dessert. The cost is $9 for adults, children (15 and younger) $4.00. Come and enjoy home cooking. The Reindeer Are Coming!

Dec. 10: Traveling all the way from the North Pole (via Rooftop Landing Reindeer Farms), live reindeer will be visiting the library. Dress warmly and don’t forget the camera! For all ages. Thursday, December 10th at 6:30 pm at the Spencer Township KDL Branch, 14960 Meddler Ave., Gowen. #48

“American Graffiti” fundraiser for CS Library

Dec. 11: The Kent Theatre is hosting a movie as a fundraising event for the new Cedar Springs Library on Friday, December 11th at 7 pm. For this event we will be showing the George Lucas film “American Graffiti”. This classic “coming of age” film about life in the early 1960s stars Ron Howard, Harrison Ford, Richard Dreyfuss, Cindy Williams, Wolfman Jack and many, many more. Come join us at the Kent Theatre for a fun and nostalgia filled evening and raise money for a great cause! Tickets are $5 each and 100% of the money raised will go to the new library. #48, 49p

Decorate an Edible Christmas Tree

Dec. 12: Want to decorate a Christmas Tree and then eat it? Come to the Cedar Springs Library on December 12th to create your very own Edible Christmas Tree! Santa at Courtland Fire Department

Dec. 12: Santa will be at Courtland Fire Department located at 7450 – 14 Mile Rd., Rockford, 49341. Santa will be available Saturday, December 12th from 1 pm to 4 pm. We will also have cookies, punch and candy canes for everyone. #48

Holiday Make & Take at HCNC

Dec. 12: You will not want your kids to miss this one! We will help your child create a gift from their heart that can be cherished and passed down to their children for generations. They will make unique gifts and wrap them up with the assistance of our volunteer team. Voila! Your children’s holiday shopping is done. This event is most appropriate for K – 5th graders. A cherished gift from your child’s heart, what could be better! Howard Christensen Nature Center, 16160 Red Pine Drive, Kent City, on Saturday, December 12th from 10 am to 12:30 pm. Donation of $6 per child includes supplies. #48

Last Chance for Bricks at The Kent

Dec. 15: The Kent Theatre is extending this last chance for you to have a brick engraved on the south side of the building. Through the years bricks have been ordered to honor, in memorial, in celebration or just for the fun of it. The Cedar Springs Theatre Association, a 501c3 non-profit organization, would like to get this last set of bricks engraved before winter sets in for the season, so they are offering a normal $50 brick for $40 until December 15th. You can have 3 lines with 11 characters, spaces or punctuation on each line. To order a brick you can mail your order and check to CSTA, PO Box 237K, Cedar Springs, MI 49319, call Len Allington at 231-750-2337 or email events@kenttheatre.org. Proceeds go to construction projects such as the back stage areas and restroom. #48

CS All Night Party Night with the Griffins

Dec. 19: Join the Griffins and Cedar Springs Senior All Night Party at the Griffins LEGO Night game for a night of fun and entertainment on Saturday, December 19th at 7 pm at Van Andel Arena. Members of the Senior All Night Party will be selling Throw for Dough pucks on the concourse until the middle of the 2nd period. Tickets are $15 in the Upper Level and proceeds support the Cedar Springs Senior All Night Party. Tickets must be ordered by December 8th.
