Varsity golf kicks off season

The Cedar Springs Girl’s Varsity Golf Team started their OK Bronze league season last week by finishing 5th with a score of 235. Alyssa Keaton was medalist with a 47, Courtney Pienta 59, Michaela Tawney 61, and Malory Shevock 68.

“We only have one returning varsity player,” said Coach London. “Everyday our freshmen and sophomore girls are simply working on getting better.”

In a non-league match the Red Hawks lost by 2 strokes to Calvin Christian.  Alyssa Keaton and Courtney Pienta carded a 46, Michaela Tawney and Malory Shevock 46, and Morgan Shevock and Audrie Davis a 55. “We played a two-person scramble,” said Alyssa Keaton. “It’s a little different but fun.”
