Band students receive top rating at Festival

 

Several Cedar Springs High School musicians received a first division rating in State Solo and Ensemble Festival last month at Grandville High School.

The Brass Quintet made up of Ryan Caron, Alexis Wilks, Emma Schut, Miles Klanderud and Zack Zenker received a first Division rating;

Emma Schut, a junior, received a first Division rating on her Proficiency 2 french horn solo;

April Roberts, a senior, received a first Division rating on her Proficiency 3 flute solo, along with a Michigan Youth Arts Festival nomination.

April was selected for the prestigious honor of playing in the Honors Orchestra with the finest High School musicians in Michigan. MYAF takes place May 7-9 at Western Michigan University.

Please help congratulate these students for all their hard work, dedication and for representing Cedar Springs at the highest level of musical performance!
