AA Meetings at Rebos House 

Rebos House, 10 N. First St., Cedar Springs is open on Sunday, 9 am, 2 pm and 7 pm. Monday, noon, 7 pm Big Book, 8:15pm, Tuesday, noon, 5:30 women’s, 7 pm men’s & women’s. Hawks Hoops Girls Rocket Basketball for 3rd-6th Grades

Nov. 8: Practice start on Saturday, November 8th at Cedar Springs High School. Pre-registration is highly encouraged via online payment, mail or dropping off at Hilltop or attending the parent meeting at 6 pm on November 3rd at Hilltop Administration Building. Registration forms are online at www.csaparksandrec.com as well as at Hilltop. Free Movie at CS United Methodist Church

Nov. 8,9: Come enjoy this great free movie event featuring “It’s a Wonderful Life.” One of those ageless movies that improves with age. Saturday, November 8th at 3 and 7 pm and Sunday, November 9th at 3 pm at Cedar Springs United Methodist Church 140 S. Main St. Free popcorn and punch! Coming soon: “The Game Stands Tall.” #44,45p

 

Marty Miller Concert

Nov. 9: Come on out and meet Marty and his wife, Janet, and enjoy a musical concert of acoustic, encouraging, original songs… mixed with an easy blend of well-known songs and worship music. Let the Father’s Spirit use the music and lyrics to open your hearts to a deeper walk with Jesus, and to step a little beyond our comfort zones into an opportunity to grow and give praise! Join us at Ensley Baptist Church, 7077 120th St., Sand Lake (near the corner of Cypress and 120th) on Sunday, November 9th at 6 pm. #45

 

Veteran’s Day at Metron

Nov. 11: As we honor those who served this country, Metron of Cedar Springs, located at 400 Jeffery, invites the community to join us for a flag ceremony presented by members of the American Legion Post 287. Opening prayer will be presented by Pastor Steven Lindeman, and music provided by the Cedar Springs High School Band, on Veteran’s Day, November 11 at 2 pm. Everyone is welcome to stay immediately following the ceremony for refreshments. Deb Eadie, pianist, will provide additonal music following the ceremony. #45

 

God’s Kitchen in Cedar Springs

Nov. 11,18,25: Join us for dinner every Tuesday. God’s Kitchen – Cedar Springs welcomes families from Northern Kent County and the surrounding area to a Tuesday Evening Meal. No charge – no registration required!  Served from 5:30 – 6:30 pm at the St. John Paul II Parish, 3110 – 17 Mile Rd., Cedar Springs. Dinner at East Nelson UMC

Nov. 12: East Nelson United Methodist Church will be hosting a dinner on Wednesday, November 12 from 5 to 7 pm. The menu is: Turkey and dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetables, rolls, relishes  and desserts. Everyone is welcome! #45

Deer Hunter’s Widow War Chest Event

Nov. 15: If you knew you could do something as easy as buying a handmade piece of jewelry or other item to help women and children rescued from the sex trade, would you? You will have that chance on Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Springs Church from 5-7 p.m., at the Deer Hunter’s Widow War Chest event. The event is put on by Women at Risk International, a humanitarian organization based in Grand Rapids. They have safe houses all over the world where they’ve rescued women and children out of sex trafficking and empower them to earn an income by making products to sell. Judy Wolter will speak about the program, and refreshments will be provided. Admission is free. All proceeds go to women at risk. For more info call Wendy at 616-460-1989. #45,46p

Solon Center Wesleyan Holiday Bazaar

Nov. 15: Do your Christmas shopping at our largest craft bazaar ever! Saturday, November 15th from 9 am to 3 pm. 60+ vendors at 2 locations ½ mile apart. Delicious fresh baked goods, hand crafted items, and jewelry. There’s definitely something for everyone. Rolls and coffee and a lunch counter are also available. Two locations: Solon Center Wesleyan Church, 15671 Algoma Ave., just north of 19 Mile Rd, and the Solon Township Hall, ½ mile south of the church (15685 Algoma Ave.). #44-46p

 

Fall Festival

Nov. 15: Saturday, November 15th the Cedar Springs United Methodist Women (140 S. Main St., Cedar Springs) are having their Fall Festival. Our booths will include Grandma’s Attic, Book Nook, Jewelry and a cookie patch. Come shop with us. You never know what kind of treasure you will find. #45,46b

 

Elvis Impersonator at Tri County Eagles

Nov. 15: Elvis Impersonator will be in the building! Tri County Eagles in Sand Lake on Saturday, November 15th at 7 pm. Dress in your best 60’s outfit! Special prize for the best 60’s costume. Dinner specials, door prizes, and 50/50 raffle. #45,46p

 

Holiday Bazaar

Nov. 15: Bethel Lutheran Church will host a Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, November 15th from 9 am to 2 pm. The church is located on M-46, just east of Old 131 (Federal Rd.). #45

 

Widow’s Weekend Bazaar

Nov. 15: The American Legion Auxiliary is having their Widow’s Weekend Bazaar on November 15 from 9 am to 3 pm at the Cedar Springs American Legion Post. Along with garage sale items and arts and crafts items, we will also have a bake sale. #45

 

Online Safety for Youth

Nov. 18: Kent School Services Parent Education Series will be held on Tuesday, November 18th at the Cedar Springs High School auditorium from 6:30 – 8 pm. Nic Bottomley, LMSW, ASOTP Therapist Family Division 17th Circuit Court will give an overview of the ongoing media revolution and the risks our youth face online. We will discuss what parents can do to help keep their children safe. Target audience (6-12). Open to parents, students and community members. #45
