The Cedar Springs boys’ varsity tennis team win match with Greenville

The Cedar Springs boys’ varsity tennis team began the week on their home courts. On Monday, September 22, Cadillac made the trip to Cedar Springs for a tennis match that ended in a 2-6 loss for the Red Hawks. The Red Hawk players with winning matches against Cadillac were #1 doubles team Karsen Dingman & Austin Nielsen and #3 doubles team Jared Liggett & Nick Hibbs.

On Wednesday, September 24, the team traveled to Greenville for an OK Bronze match up that resulted in a close 5-3 win for the Red Hawks. Both the #2 and #3 singles matches went into a 3rd set tie breaker before Cedar Springs would come away with a win. The Red Hawk players with wins against Greenville were #1 singles Blake Fisk, #2 singles Nick Fennessey, #3 singles Drew French, #4 singles Dylan Kolasa and #1 doubles team Karsen Dingman and Austin Nielsen.

Coach Katie Unsworth remarked, “We have been having a very successful season. Our match record is 7-4 thus far and I am very excited heading into our conference and regional tournaments. I believe this will be the best season Cedar Springs has had in the past few years.”
