AA Meetings at Rebos House

Electronics Recycling in Greenville 

Electronics recycling is available on Montcalm Community College’s Greenville campus at 1325 Yellow Jacket. A Comprenew trailer is located in the southeast corner of the parking lot. Visit www.comprenew.org/items for a list of recyclable items. Light bulbs and large appliances are not accepted. #37


Heaven Is For Real presented

Sept. 13,14: The Cedar Springs United Methodist Church is showing the movie Heaven is for Real in our fellowship hall. This movie is based on a true story. Bring a friend and join us for any of the following showings. Saturday, September 13th at 3 or 7 pm or Sunday, September 14th at 3 pm. We are located at 140 S. Main Street. Awana Kick Off Sunday and Potluck

Sept. 14: Huggard Bible Church, 8860 – 21 Mile Rd., Sand Lake will kick off their Awana program on Sunday September 14th at 9:30 am. The service will surround the kids. 10:45 Sunday School. The Commander will lead the Hour and let you know about things concerning Awana. The lunch is at 11:30 with place settings and meat provided. Bring a dish or two to pass. There will be a table set up for early registration. Awana is for 3 years old to 6th grade and starts on September 17th at 6:30 pm. #36,37p


Dinner at the Legion

Sept. 15: American Legion, 80 Main St. Cedar Springs, is hosting a Baked Chicken dinner on Monday, September 15th, from 5 – 7 pm. Included will be mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, veggies, salad, rolls, dessert and drinks. The cost is $9 for adults, children (12 and younger) $4.00. Come and enjoy home cooking. TOPS weight loss support group

Sept. 16: Take off pounds sensibly (TOPS), a non-profit weight loss support group for men and women, meets every Tuesday at the Resurrection Lutheran Church in Sand Lake. Your first visit is free so come check out what TOPS can do to help you reach your weigh loss goals! Weigh-ins 8:15-9am, meeting starts at 9:15am. Red Flannel Day Talent Show Tryouts

Sept. 17: Looking for talented kids of all ages. The Red Flannel Talent Show is searching for singers, vocal groups, dancers, instrumentalists and variety acts for the Red Flannel Day Talent Show on October 4th. Come in and show us what you’ve got. AWANA at First Baptist Church

Sept. 17: AWANA resumes at First Baptist Church in Cedar Springs on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:55 pm. For preschoolers through the sixth grade. This unique ministry reaches and teaches children the Word of God through game, handbook and council times. Those in preschool (Cubbies), K-2 grades (Sparks), and 3-6 grades (TNT) will learn and have fun at the same time. If you have any questions, please contact the church office at 616-696-1630. #37


Dinner at East Nelson UMC

Sept. 17: East Nelson United Methodist Church at 9024 – 18 Mile Rd. NE will be starting their monthly dinners again on September 17 from 5to 7 pm. Pork chops, mashed potatoes and gravy, veggies, rolls and many wonderful desserts are on the menu. Please join us. #37


Community Luncheon

Sept. 18: The Community Luncheon’s featured speaker is from the US Postal System to talk about identity theft and mail fraud. The luncheon will be held on Thursday, September 18 at 11:30 am at Algoma Township Hall. The cost is $7 and includes a catered lunch. “The History of Grand Rapids”

Sept. 18: The Grand Rapids Public Library will present “The History of Grand Rapids” at the Sparta Senior Center on Thursday, September 18 at 10 am. The Senior Center is located at 100 Ida Red, Sparta. The public is welcome. #37


Red Hot Faith at Solon Center Wesleyan Church

Sept. 19: All women of the community are invited to attend “Red Hot Faith”, an event just for women on Friday, September 19th @ 6 pm. Guest speaker Cindy Bultema the author of the Bible study “Red Hot Faith” will be with us as we enjoy a Mexican Fiesta, have fun with a photo booth, chat with friends and be inspired by Cindy to live a life of “Red Hot Faith”. Dennis Anderson Memorial Open

Sept. 20: The 1st Annual Dennis Anderson Memorial Open, a 4 person scramble, will be held on Saturday, September 20th at Cedar Chase Golf Course in Cedar Springs. Oct. 4: CSPS Class of ‘64 will hold its 50th Reunion on October 4th at the Red Flannel Rod & Gun Club. Social time will begin after the Red Flannel Parade.
