School Supplies Needed

Aug: Curves of Cedar Springs is collecting backpack and school supplies for kids in need that will be distributed to our local schools. Drop off times are Monday – Friday, 7:30 am to 11 am and Monday  – Thursday, 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm. Contact Christine Holman at 616-696-1689 for more information. #34


Annual 2nd Best Sale

Aug. 22,23: Holy Spirit Episcopal Church’s Annual 2nd Best Sale will be Friday, August 22 from 9 am to 4 pm and Saturday, August 23 from 9 am to 2 pm. It is sponsored by the All Saints Guild (ECS) in support of parish activities. There is something for everyone: clothes, books, toys, housewares, sporting goods, furniture, electronics, craft supplies, jewelry, etc. Many vintage items. Everything is prices to move! Open House for Prayer

Aug. 25: Our church is having an Open House for Prayer, whereas folks are invited to come to the Old Chapel for whatever amount of time they may choose on Monday, August 25 from 7 to 8 pm to Pray for the Nation of Israel. TOPS weight loss support group

Aug. 26: Take off pounds sensibly (TOPS), a non-profit weight loss support group for men and women, meets every Tuesday at the Resurrection Lutheran Church in Sand Lake. Your first visit is free so come check out what TOPS can do to help you reach your weigh loss goals! Weigh-ins 8:15-9am, meeting starts at 9:15am. Call Barb at 696-8049 for more information. #34


Wild Wednesdays at HCNC

Aug. 27: “Dinosaurs come back” – Discover the world of Dinosaurs and other ancient history – children will go out looking for archeology finds, breaking open rocks to see what we can see. At the end of the day, we will bury our own plaster mode(s) in hopes of others someday discovering our history.  Rain or Shine. Bring a lunch, dress for the outdoors (no flip-flops or crocs) $8 per child per day. Parents are not required, however are encouraged to come along free of charge. Ages: 5 -15 years. Senior Lunch at Pine Grove Community Church

Aug. 27: EXTRA EXTRA READ ALL ABOUT IT! Pine Grove Senior Cafe presents ham, smashed taters and carrots all yummy no doubt. All readers age 60 or more, if you think so too; you know what to do. Come one come all as you have before, Wednesday the 27th of August at noon walk through our door. The location for this feast to be found is the corner of M-82 and the Avenue of Beech. #34


Worship in the Park

Aug. 27: Solon Center Wesleyan Church presents Worship in the Park. Come join the fun at Salisbury Park in Sand Lake on Wednesday evening, August 27th. Free food will be offered at 6:30 pm followed by worship music from the band Gained Access. There will be inflatables for the kids and fun, fun, fun. Grab your picnic gear, a lawn chair, and enjoy the festivities. Everyone is welcome! #34p

Herbal Tea and Treats

Aug. 27: The Greenville Garden Club will meet on Wednesday August 27 at 7 pm at the Greenville Community Center, 900 Kent Rd. Speaker Connie Hanson of Grand Shire Herb Farms will share her favorite recipes for tea party sweets and savories and ideas for theme teas. Learn how to make a different herbal tea blend for each month of the year. Bring your favorite teacup and enjoy. Open to the public. Please join us. #34

Beyblade Battles at KDL
