Great Lakes Aviators Build-off and Fly-in

 

The Great Lakes Aviators will hold their second annual Build-off and Fly-in on Saturday, August 16, at Paul C. Miller Airport, 9100 Vinton Avenue, in Sparta.

Enjoy a hearty breakfast from 8:00 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tour the airport grounds and see up close the many aircraft flown in to compete for the builder’s cup trophy. Juried competition showcases home built and restored aircraft.

There will be free flights for young Eagles (ages 8-17) from 8 a.m. to noon.

About 11:00 a.m. veterans of the 101st Airborne Association will join the group to watch a WWII type demonstration jump from a C-46 or C-47.

Parking and admission is free. Breakfast is $7, but free for pilot entrants, and kids 8 years old and under.
