Dorthy Jean Peters, 92, of Brunswick, Missouri died on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at the Brunswick Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at the Breshears Memorial Chapel, Brunswick, Missouri, Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. Pastors Jonathan Rice and Bill Gamber officiating. Burial will be in the Elliott Grove Cemetery, Brunswick, Missouri. Dorthy was born on June 30, 1922 at Riverside Township, Michigan, the daughter of Merle and Christel Burkett Bell. She was married to Arrow Peters on January 22, 1941 at Laingsburg, Michigan. Arrow survives her at the home. For a total of sixty years Dorthy had taught music in three states including Cedar Springs, Michigan where she taught music to sixty-five students per week in her home. She had supported missions for many years, been active in Childhood Evangelism and had taught Sunday School in several churches. She was a member of the Brunswick Baptist Church. She is also survived by one daughter, Ruth Rice and her husband Herbert of Brunswick, Missouri; one sister, Agnes Rounds of Rockford, Michigan; three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials may be made to: The Gideons and may be left at or mailed to: Breshears Memorial Chapel, 207 W. Broadway, Brunswick, MO 65236.
