51C -obit JonesMr. Harry D. Jones, age 91, went home to his Lord and Savior Wednesday, December 11, 2013. He was born July 24, 1922 in Rockford, Michigan to John and Mae (Totton) Jones. Harry was an Army Veteran of WWII. On May 3, 1946 he married Thelma Louise Linderman. For most of his life he was a John Deere tractor mechanic. Harry enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, farming, restoring John Deere tractors and being with family. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Thelma; children, Doug (Jan) Jones, Pam (Dana) Freas, Vern (Irene) Jones, Cal (Jan) Jones, Steve (Cathy) Jones; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Jones; daughter, Trudy Smitterberg; three sisters; and four brothers. The funeral service was held at 11 am, Monday, December 16, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Cedar Springs, 233 S. Main St., Cedar Springs, MI 49319. The visitation was held from 2 to 5 pm on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at the Pederson Funeral Home in Rockford. Memorial contributions can be made to the First Baptist Church of Cedar SpringsĀ  Memorial Fund or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Michigan Chapter, 1471 E. Twelve Mile Rd., Madison Heights, MI 48071.
